Numbers can overstate things. The eyes tell usuallly tell us more. Parsons scored 3 goals since late November. 5 goals in 7 games came during a purple patch in October and early part of November. 3 more of his 12 goals were FA Cup against Nailsea and Tickenham. In that context , definitely not of the view that the coaching team have got big improvements out of him. They certainly made him a sub very often, which probably didn't help and when he started he got little service. After watching us play and seeing our playing style.... don't see any evidence that the coaching team get anything out of their strikers.
Don't know anything about this Vaughan who signed yesterday but read he is ex academy so fits the profile under the current regime. Bit too much academy driven in my opinion.Think some more signings are needed. Players who have proved they can do it at our level.

Think you’ll end up in the budget conversation again. It’s clear how we operate as a club because of limited funds. Touray and Vaughan are examples of this as is Harry to an extent.
Harry started in 30 games and played the 6th highest minutes in the squad of all season, so he certainly had plenty of opportunities. In 2023/24 he scored 2 goals and got 2 assists. In 2024/25 he scored 9 and got 6 assists and that doesn’t include cup games which I am sure adds a couple.
Maybe with McClure gone he will step up and take more responsibility on.

Another prolific young forward signs in Olaf Koszela from Dorchester. Remember him scoring against us for Torquay a while ago. Scored loads last season so could be a good bit of business.

According to their website and the Dorset press online - he has been signed for a undisclosed fee.
Stepping up a level but apparently scored 28 goals last season. Time will tell of course but he seems like the type of player in both background and age that is worth taking a chance on.

4 specialist strikers now! Quite a statement of intent, we hope. Only two years ago, we pretty much had only Fas operating alone up front. Last season 2 but with MM playing so deep sometimes he needed breathing apparatus and then latterly ( and all too briefly) three with Hamzad and then Harlee.
Our finishing was generally poor last season... and probably cost us a dozen(?) points over the term. Harry was as big a culprit as any. He really got into the right spaces and places but did a fair bit of blasting over the bar. That said, I felt he had one of his best games away to Bath where he was properly physical and gave Parselle & Co. a really hard time. Hopefully, being more settled and not having the burden of chief goalscorer entirely on his young shoulders, will relax him and bring more goals.
