The only way to try and put a stop to these clubs poor financial management with the likes of Salisbury and hereford as examples is to actually kick them right down to the bottom of the pyramid and start again. It's too easy to just drop them down a couple of leagues, like they did with Salisbury before and a couple of good seasons with decent crowds at that level and they are back where they were again, in the meantime clubs who work hard within their means then have a job to push on and progress themselves.

The threat and the punishment has to be bigger

I see in the gazette many of the squad have signed up.

I guess Ben John being released is no great surprise given all the rumours and the fact he was out of the side at the end of the season. Kent has done well but i would imagine another goalkeeper will also be signed.

Matt Coupe I think will be a very good signing both in terms of his experience and also that nasty edge he has and will terrorise centre forwards next season.

I'm unsure about the re-signing of Toby Osman, discipline issues last time round leaves the jury out for me and I guess we will just have to wait and see how he fairs this time around.

I thought Jake Harris was a longer term signing as reported in the gazette towards the end of the season so not sure why he has gone and why?

Little bit surprised about McClennan attracting interest from the league above. On his day a good player but even at this level needs to show more consistency, especially when the chips are down. If he had a good season next season I could understand it more if he was picked up the season after.

Great to see the likes of Guthrie, Griffin and Tindle returning, three key players in my opinion.

Would still like to see a striker with pace, a creative centre mid and a box to box centre mid (to fill the void left by Rob Dean which is a big loss)

I'm sure there will be more business done over the coming weeks then I'll look forward to seeing what sort of Pre-Season fixtures we have to look forward to

A cup tournament with only 4 teams participating isn't really of much interest. Most of these games around the 4 clubs has rarely been very well attended in terms of supporters on the night and the clubs haven't really put out their full first X1's either so that tells you how they rate the particular cup.

Anyone know how the meetings went with the players this week as to who was staying or going.

Someone said that Lee Phillips tweeted he was staying, any news on Ben John, Ian Harvey or any others. Did hear gossip that McClennan was signing for Paulton Rovers, don't know how true that is?

What new players would you like to see the management target?
