What a difference from the recent home games. Hardly any mucking in  midfield with aimless passing. Intent seemed to be to get the ball forward quickly which resulted in a good entertaining game. This raises the question why have we had to suffer awful boring defensive football so many times this season when it seems on today's performance we can play in a more positive way? And against a team which had something to play for. Good games by all the team but in my opinion Luke Haines,Freddie Grant  Luke Spokes and Matt McClure stood out.
Hopefully will see same positive approach in last 2 games although would be happy to see us beat Bath even if it meant scoring 1 goal then sitting in our own half for the rest of the game! And getting into double figures for away wins would be good.

Absolutely. I thought Weston were far better in the first half, but obviously couldn't score despite quite a few chances. When we scored (great free-kick) Weston looked rather shell-shocked and we saw a different game. Chippenham much better in the second half and overall a decent watch. Good to see over 800 in attendance (lots from Weston).
Now on to Monday and the noisy neighbours....

Think the team done well to stick with it first half. Weston came out looking sharp with Will Henry showing again the importance of having a good goalkeeper with his early save. 2nd half as mentioned was Chippenham's.Haines took charge of the free kick and his goal changed the game. A rare 2nd goal as well - with a midfielder bursting forward to finish off. Maybe moving away from this possession football obsession and instead having some variety, might have something going for it?!

That was more like the Chippenham of old. Why it has taken 22 home games to produce a decent display and entertain I wish I knew. Rode our luck in the first half. Will Henry and Luke Haines certainly saved us. Came home feeling that we have a team that could do something positive, style of play was certainly more direct. Can’t work out why Andrew’s is on the bench and we don’t use him.One of life’s mysteries for me.Hopefully more of the same against Hornchurch.

Luke Spokes goal was our first goal in open play for over a month.Doesn’t that tell you something about being more direct or not.Or was it because Weston were going for a equaliser and were open at the back
