Worthing win it at the very end.
Mehew and substitute Amadi-Holloway the Chippenham scorers.
Low crowd in attendance - 398.

Another game we deserved a point from but poor finishing and game management from players and coaches was our undoing.

The ref was odd too, dishing out cards willy-nilly and letting other offenders off unpunished for similar. That said his correct playing advantage gave us the opening goal which was well taken by Mehew and our best move of the game

Right performance; wrong result. A significant change from Saturday. Much greater intensity and commitment to the cause. Everyone closing down space, harrying Worthing players, committing to tackles and ball-winning. This is what fans want... some good ol' Pride & Passion. And we did get it last night. Despite the very modest crowd... there was a good response to the players' efforts and a bit of a buzz ...around the Stand at least. We made chances ( and didn't take a couple of critical ones). We also had a glimpse of a potential new order when Hamzad ( 6 ft 6 ins according to his partner) and AAH were sent up field to try to win the game... Twin Peaks.. with pace, too. It was cruel ending as we'd fully gone toe-to-toe with Worthing who were a very good side. Anyone could have won it... the coin just landed their way up. Having now seen a much more combative, more physical CTFC... it would be unforgiveable for them to lapse back into less intense habits. Hopfully, the visit of Torquay next Tuesday will ensure that doesn't happen. The Home Faithful and the Semi -Detached need reasons to return/ keep coming to the TSS... and yesterday was a powerful incentive, and a really good advertisement for us.

Much improved performance, shame so few there to witness it.Missed chances are costing a bucket load of points.Feel sorry for Harry Parsons , he battles up front all by himself, working his socks off ,then gets substituted and two 6ft strikers come on,and things begin to happen.Couldn’t quite see but did Worthings first goal hit the crossbar and then hit Will Henry on the back.I know referees have a hard job, but in the last two games free kicks get given for what looks like legitimate tackles and blatant blocking off the ball,nothing given.Hopefully playing the top two in the next week a bit of luck might come our way, we are certainly due some.

Thought it was an open game and decent performance - unfortunate to lose but it is what it is. They had that little bit extra quality.It is very easy these days to overstate a side as a good footballing team but thought Worthing were a very good footballing outfit, who mixed up their play, with their number 10 Cashman the best player on the park. Also helped that they had a good finisher up front.

Liked the look of our big front two on at the end who unsettled Worthing and brought much needed presence to the attack. Unfortunately - would be very surprised if the twin striker tactic is used much going forward - old habits and all that!

As for the crowd figure? Not sure it can be solely put down to a Tuesday night in January and good football on the TV.

The kind of result that get teams promotion, I sense Worthing might look back on that one favourably come April/May. Good improvement, didn't get the point it probably deserved. Another tough challenge on Saturday, but with it being an Arsenal-maintained pitch, it should suit our style.

As with Saturday came away from the game feeling pretty annoyed. Saturday because of the awful performance but last night because saw good attacking football and we didn't deserve to lose. As soon as the 2 big lads came on up front had Worthing's defence under pressure.Hope next week against Torquay we adopt the same approach although would like to see how McClure or Parsons would get on with a bit of physical support along side. Would assume however be back to normal tactics (one up front) on Saturday as can argue away tactics successful.
Given that l can't remember one really bad foul all night from either team referee dished out a lot of cards. But saying that he was one of the better referees we have seen this season.
As far as the crowd is concerned we never get a decent crowd mid week unless it's someone like Torquay/Yeovil but home last Saturday and overall home record not good not much to encourage the casuals to pay out another £12/£16. And of course being mid week not so many younger fans would be there.
But let's hope with it being Torquay to see a few more there next week and be rewarded with a good performance.
