I think the difference between this game and so many home games I have seen this season was the speed we started. And the pace at which we got the ball forward. Not by just lumping it out and hoping, but playing a fast direct passing game and having players really wanting to burst forward and get on the ball. I think we very much took Eastbourne by surprise. And how they stopped us scoring more first half goals was a miracle. All 11 players seemed really up for the game. And after the first goal went in you could almost visibly see Eastbournes confidence drain away. And there managers comments about us being a workman like side had come back to haunt him. A excellent second half and some outstanding football and finishing. Completed a great afternoon. All 11 and the subs used were very very good. I don’t want to single players because everyone of them left all they had on the pitch. But Tom Mehew was back to his very best. And Harry Parsons gives the side so much of what we have been missing. He was a real handful for there big defenders all afternoon. This team is really starting to show what they can do. It’s a real pity that only just over 600 people watched the game. But Chippenham is a huge place these days. Hopefully if the result and style of play keep being rolled out more people will come and have a look.
