The first Town side I really took an interest in, as a small boy, was in the mid to late 60's.  In those days kids could sit on the grass pitch-side, as there was no wall, and get a close-up of the action.  One of the stand out players of that time was a blond winger called Peter Philpot.  I vividly remember him taking corners in front of the refreshment hut, being so close to the action you could smell the liniment.  That was a great team in my young eyes - I don't think we ever won anything but that didn't matter to me.  Peter passed away yesterday.  He'll be sadly missed by his family and friends.  I'm pretty sure he's on at least one of the team pictures in the Bluebirds Bar.  Go and have a look.
