Gloucester tonight

2-0 ft and thoroughly deserved - all 11 players gave their all with no subs used. Truly abysmal referee

Re: Gloucester tonight

Great win and throughly deserved. Worked do hard from the off, closing down. Playing Jones and Evans in the breaking up the play well restricting them to crosses into the box and long range strikes, never really treated our goal. Our pace up front caused them problems all night and should have had more, especially in the first 20 mins.

Taken from their forum before tonight's game:
"Just checked and Mark Collier is their manager now. I thought Rudge had gone!

Looked at their team and doesn't seem too special. David Pratt and especially Andy Sandell are the main problems we'll face"

Lol

Re: Gloucester tonight

Terrible referee who had a woeful game. The linesman on the main stand side might as well have not been there as he deferred pretty much everything to the referee. The away fans were appalling and looked to be wanting to start a fight. On the plus side we got a well deserved win and everyone played well.

Re: Gloucester tonight

Didn't get to the game last night, great result and I read there was a decent crowd!!

Can someone confirm the starting lineup? On the twitter feed it mentioned 'Morgan' starting? Then I see on JMW twitter this morning that he loves being a 'bench warmer'

Either way, good three points and great response.

Re: Gloucester tonight

It was a great performance, and good to see Nuno back in the starting line up, only due to Sands injury during warm up.  Midfield we were exceptional with Evans, and Smith controlling and Pratty and Jake up front causing Glos endless problems. Superb by all, pressing high from the start and no dropping off late in second half, but still taking the game to them.  This team was probably the best put out since the Bath game. Strange we have beat all the local derby teams so far!!

Re: Gloucester tonight

Great display of confident flowing football from the Bluebirds last night, every player was on top form and as said previously Evans and Jones did a great job of breaking up Gloucester's attacks. Special mention to Nuno as he has been under pressure of late and wasn't down to be in the starting line up. He showed all the strength and flair he did last season. I was a bit worried with no Sand's up front but Dave and Jake have developed an understanding and are just as deadly as Dave and Andy. Any opposition manager watching Dave Pratt must wonder how do we stop him, I say don't bother just stand back and admire possibly the best forward at this level of football. "We're Chippenham old boys and we sing when we want.

ps Hope we can hang on to Jake for the rest of the season

Re: Gloucester tonight

Great response to Saturday. Not much can be said that's not been said already. Particularly agree with Hobgoblins point about David Pratt. Have said since his resigning with us as important as Sandell is Dave Pratt is the most important player in our squad. He just doesn't stop!! And he is just phenomenal. Jake was good last night and Evans and Jones really impressed me. And the back four did very well against tricky customers in the last 20 minutes we just frustrated them. As proven by the fans at the other end of the pitch..... Oh dear!
