Worth it to watch the Bluebirds, yes, but a bunch of kids from Swindon ???? You would have thought that the Swindon management would have wanted to test their first choice players against a decent team rather than the likes of Melksham, Supermarine and Salisbury. Maybe they're scared that they will get shown up?

Ridiculous thing to say. They have played league and Conference sides. The under 18s beat Highworth Town 1st team Saturday .

Priced to high to watch a bunch of kids...know a few not going now when the news of the Swindon team was announced, will be a small gate I think. Shame, look at the gate Melksham got for the Rovers game...1500, missed opportunity I think.

It was never realistic to think Swindon would risk their first team squad so close to the big kick-off. I'm not sure we'll go full strength - it's all about getting to Saturday with a fully fit squad.
One of the things that was brought up at the Open Forum last Friday was pre-season friendlies. Newport have already booked another game for next year, this time on a Saturday (so likely to get more of their fans travelling) and the close links we've built up with Bristol City through the Jake Andrews loan(s) means it's a distinct possibility we'll get them as well. Add to that Swindon (we've also got better links with them now - long overdue) and that's three decent games. Keep the faith.
