As no one has penned about Melksham game, thought would inform those that never made the game, Chip won 4-1, with a hat trick from Sands. Good run out and used nearly two teams, Fergie played exceptionally well, and the new keeper, Jared, looked confident and took the high balls very well, and his distribution was class. Mark has a difficult job picking starting X1 for the first game, Swindon game Tuesday, should be more interesting. Liked Melksham's new set up, and pitch was very good, a credit to the club.

Great facility at Melksham,on the pitch a one sided game with gulf between the two teams. Decent crowd.

Yes I totally agree a good workout. At Melkshams fantastic new Combined Football and Rugby grounds. But that's what around 7 Million Pounds buys you. Melksham were very organised and they were set up very defensively. Sometimes having up to 7 across the back with there loan front man Gary Higdon getting very little support. We must have had 70 to 80% of the first half play but found it very difficult against the numbers they had in deffensive positions and they managed to match us for fitness for the first 45 minutes And we struggled to work there keeper to much in the first half. A decent 1-4 result in the end with lots of positives, Jared in goal looked very assured in the limited action he faced. Some very good performances on the pitch yesterday with Dean Evans just the pick for me. He just runs and runs and likes a tackle. I reckon we will see him in the starting line up next Saturday. Well we've saved the best friendly till last but disappointingly it kicks off at 7-00 pm. I know a lot of people are going to struggle with that kick off time. But really looking forward to the game, when we should at some point see Saturday's starting line along with Swindons, so should be a really good one. As has been said very big decisions for Mark and Tom to make and some very disappointed players. 😎

Evans looks good signing and appears to be ahead of Pook and Allen, I think disappointment looms for a few in truth. Not seen Tom Jones around of late due to hip replacement job for Horgs maybe.

Yes I had to weave in and out a bit on my motorbike

About a mile? It's about 200-300 yards in truth but it is bad, and the council have been "encouraged" to finish it off. Wouldn't hold your breath.
Good workout for the lads. What I was impressed with was the way we passed the ball at speed, and the trust the players have got in each other to receive the ball in tight situations, keeping possession and working the opposition. Different ball game next week of course but we're sharp and no serious injuries that I'm aware of.

I suspect some of their team may have to be back for bedtime!

Could I just clarify that the 7pm kick-off was at the request of Swindon Town, so Space Raider's thoughts on this may not be too far from the truth !!!

And to quote their official account in the past hour: "there will be a number of young players in action tomorrow night."
