Sean Hughes RiP
It is with great sadness to hear this morning of the passing of Chippenham Town F C Scout ,former player ,great friend to myself and many others and all round top man ,RIP Sean

That's terrible news. The last home game he attended a few weeks ago he was in fine form and telling us about his plans for retirement. We wondered why he hadn't been at the last few games and only a few days ago we found out the reason. With Sean being the scout, a former player and a well known supporter I hope the club consider naming the new building in his honour. RIP Sean

A great character who will be sadly missed. Have known Sean since he was in his teens - he was playing for Chippenham Town first team when he was around 17 I guess? Very clever player he was too, even later in his playing career when he wasn't so slim :-) Privileged to have played against him, with him, shared lots of good times watching CTFC and taken advantage of his car boot - there are countless ex-local footballers in this region who didn't have to buy toothpaste or shampoo for quite a considerable period. RIP Sean. You'll never be forgotten, not least by the linesmen who patrolled the touchline in front of the terrace where you stood.

Sad news of another club stalwart who did not live to see us reach the level that has eluded us for so long. This should be all the incentive needed to finally complete the task.

Quite frankly I'm still in a state of shock following this dreadful news about Sean. I thought it odd that he had not attended the last few homes games, but I never expected this. Sean was a one off, and had us all in stitches with his off the cuss comments to most of the officials that came to Hardenhuish !! I don't think Sean ever got over the loss of his dear wife Sue through illness nearly 2 years ago, but he soldiered on keeping himself busy looking for new talent for CTFC. As Bluebird 2006 rightly stated, he will not have the opportunity to see the boys play at a higher level, which I know he craved for. RIP old friend.
