Joey Barton / Nick Bunyard

I see that Joey Barton has admitted that he placed over 1200 bets during a 10 year period. This is against the rules of the top 8 levels of football. Will he get the same treatment as Nick, no I doubt it as usual the FA will not make an example of a top player or team but pick on the little guy as an easy target without an expensive brief to defend them. Not saying that what Nick did wasn't wrong but will Barton get banned from the game?

Re: Joey Barton / Nick Bunyard

Im sure Joey Barton wasnt betting on his teams never mind on his teams to lose. Totally different.

Re: Joey Barton / Nick Bunyard

Yes, I admit that the cases are different but both broke the FA's total ban on players and managers betting on games. Nick was managing at the lowest level ( Paulton ) that these rules apply too, were as Joey was at the highest. The Scottish FA gave him the total of a ONE match ban for similar offences committed while playing there. So what I am saying I can't see the English FA having the balls to make an example of him.

Re: Joey Barton / Nick Bunyard

Also Nick Bunyard was charged with 45 bets, Joey Barton 1200. As you say though, no chance of a 3 year worldwide football ban for Barton

The number of bets is irrelevant, betting on matches involving your team and to lose is disgraceful and should have had a life time ban

How about players, should they get lifetime ban if betting on their team to lose?

Yes, without a shadow of a doubt
