Frome Town. Home. Monday.

A big game for both sides.  For once for the same reason.  Frome are going very well at the moment and sit Just behind us in the league.  There form is very good they sit third in the current six match form table.  We are drawing games we dominate and should be winning. Four of our last five games have been drawn.  Turning these games into wins would probably see us on top of the table.  Josh has obviously put together a very good side at Frome,  we will have to be at our best to beat them.  I know our boys are looking forward to it, and I'm sure Mark and Tom will have them fired right up right from the first whistle.  Tindle misses his last game and has been a big miss.  But others have stepped in and done we'll.  The weather is set to be dry so hopefully should be a decent crowd with a good atmosphere.  I'm looking forward to it and I'm sure the Frome fans are as well.  We need to win and break this sequence of drawn games.   Good luck to Mark, Tom and the lads.  😎

On a very sad note I would like to send my Sympathies  to Jamie Mines and all his family. The Frome scaffolder who suffered horrific injurries whilst at work just before Christmas.  My thoughts and I'm sure the thoughts of all Chippenham suppertors are with you and your family Jamie.

Re: Frome Town. Home. Monday.

Firstly thanks for your comments regarding Jamie, absolutely horrific thing to have happened and if anyone did want to donate or read what happened here is the link. The fund currently stands at a very impressive 22k

Now to the game. I disagree slightly in the fact that it's a big game for both.....obviously we both want to win but ultimately we have basically already covered our aim for the season and that is to stay up so anything else really is a bonus where as you have a very ambitious and wealthy chairman who has massively backed your manager and he wants Chippenham to go up and after the fall away last season don't think that will be accepted again this season so the emphasis is very much with yourselves.

Forgetting all that though we are indeed in good form with 4 wins and 2 draws in December including games vs Leamington and Slough (however that still wasn't good enough for team of the month as Chesham got it with 3 wins and 1 draw so not sure how they work that out ) so it is all set up for a great game.

First time we would have come up against Chitty as well.

Let's just hope the weather is kind to us and this cold snap disappears!!

Looking forward to it also Jono, you make good points but if Merthyr, Hitchin, Leamington, Slough had also not dropped points they would also be top.Tindle missed as I'm sure other clubs will miss their big players.  Best squad will win the league not the best team.

Re: Frome Town. Home. Monday.

Recent form and selection  (No Tindle) taken into consideration I make Frome favourites for Monday. Any thoughts?

Re: Frome Town. Home. Monday.

The book makers would disagree Regi. They have Chipp best price 10/11 and Frome at around 5/2. With the draw at 13/5.  I can see where you coming from though.  If I were a neutral I would say it'll be a draw. 😎

Re: Frome Town. Home. Monday.

I believe we stole a point today. This was the worse performance I have seen from the Bluebirds this season, couldn't win the second ball, couldn't put two passes together and certain individuals were way off the pass. Anyway as Mark would say lets take the positives out of the game 1) we didn't lose 2) big crowd 3) both Leamington and Slough lost.     " We're Chippenham old boys and we sing when we want."

Finally the ref was crap too.

Re: Frome Town. Home. Monday.

Also my worse performance of the season should be PACE not PASS.

Re: Frome Town. Home. Monday.

Yeah i think we deserved the 3 points but it's how it goes sometimes and keeps our run going as a positive but would have been nice to actually get a 3 points at your place for a change.

We dealt with Sandell and Pratt very well i thought (except Pratt's run last 5 minutes when we couldn't get near him) and the difference at times was probably Davies on the wing he tore you apart at times.

Good game though

Re: Frome Town. Home. Monday.

I'm not surprised Frome are going so well, they looked a very good side, well organised and got forward well as a unit.  They gave us no time on the ball and did not let us play,  shutting us down quickly and chasing down every ball, we were second best for most of the afternoon.    The positives two very well taken goals and a decent crowd.   Jonathan Davies looked very sharp today and caused us a lot of problems. The Frome deffence gave very little away I thought the number 4  was outstanding. One critism of Frome today, they took there loan striker in the second half and dropped very deep. The ball inevitably kept coming back at them and we eventually got the equaliser. Tinds will be back Saturday, we have missed him badly. As hobgoblin says not all bad as Lemington and Slough both lost.  Another big game Saturday at Lemington. And then it's Weymouth at home next Tuesday.  Four points would be a very good return and keep us in the pack.   Happy New year to all bluebirds fans.   Let's hope it's a good one.    😎

Re: Frome Town. Home. Monday.

Yeah number 4 Connor Roberts gets MOM most weeks (like today) and every game he seems almost faultless (and also on contract so hands off )

Regarding sitting back that is probably one fault of ours but then all teams seem to do that for some reason, plus we still had that diving header and overhead kick last 5 minutes so we do still seem to create as well even when under the cosh
