Hello Bluebirds.

I recently enjoyed your away draw at Merthyr. Have a look at the link above for my write up and pictures from the game.

Cheers

Re: pics and blog entry from Merthyr away

Hi Burtone and welcome to the CTFC Fans Forum. I have to say I have thoroughly enjoyed your write up of our game with Merthyr Town, which always seems to have controversy surrounding it, either the home or the away fixture. Your photographs are excellent and a credit to your photography skill. I have to say your approach is some different to the 'Diary of a Ground hopper' trilogy that we have to endure as a feature in the Non League Paper, in as much as your views are balanced and totally impartial. Whereas our friend from the paper has this dreadful knack of winding up the custodians at the club he is visiting by complaining at every little thing not to his liking !!! You are more than welcome to visit the Home of Bluebirds - Hardenhuish Park, where you will be treated to a very warm Chippenham Town welcome. We have a home fixture on New Year's Day against our fierce rivals Frome Town, which promises to be a belter.

Thanks for your kind words Toyboy.

I had the pleasure of visiting Hardenhuish Park a couple of weeks ago. I'll post the link.

All the best for the rest of the season. I hope to come back and see you in action again soon though can't make the Frome game as I'm in the midlands for the NY...

Re: pics and blog entry from Merthyr away

. The highlight of the ground in my opinion was the bar, situated at the top of the main stand. It's long and thin and on the long side is all windowed offering great raised views of the pitch. It had an impressive display of club memorabilia including team photos on the wall going all the way back to the start of the 20th century. In addition, there was a wide selection of beers on tap and myself and Bryan enjoyed a refreshing pint of East Coast IPA as the teams warmed up below us.

many thanks Burtone , always nice to hear reviews like this ,

Definitely the nicest club bar I've been to this season Pete. A credit to the football club.

FYI Bideford's 'Robins Nest' is the second nicest I've seen on my travels this year.
