Chippenham v Sholing

It seems more than a week since the Gloucester game. The sun is shinning and were looking forward to the Sholing game today. I reckon our boys will be looking to get last week out of there system's and put in a decent performance today. Lets hope we can take last weeks effort and drive into today.  We need to take the frustration of how we lost  in the 91 minute out on Sholing and let them feel the backlash. Good luck to Nath,  Rich and the boys.

Good luck guys, I'm visiting family up north so unfortunately won't be in attendance. Trying to slip off to take in the Matlock vase game though!

Re: Chippenham v Sholing

Lost 2-1. Didn't start to play until 2 down. Their goals came from 2 set pieces - both times their centre back was left unmarked - the second time he was standing on the goal line at a corner. 'Little Sholing' have now dumped us out of the FA Trophy and FA Youth Cup - questions to be asked?

Re: Chippenham v Sholing

With a run of away games coming up in November and with the cup money gone to have paid off the tax bill, allegedly, money could become tight so will we in a position, again, where we have to shed players before the busy Christmas/New Year period, do hope not.

Two positive points though, the new disclipinary code the board discussed with Rudgey in the week should save a few quid given our record and now we can concentrate on the league, hugely disappointing though to be saying that in October though.

Re: Chippenham v Sholing

Who pays the fines, the player or the club? If it's the club, then it's about time we started getting the players to cough up, it might help to concentrate the mind a little.

Re: Chippenham v Sholing

I believe player pays his own fines - double hit with loss of wages from suspension...

We were poor today. Rudge had a good game last week, but seemed to struggle today and even Griffin seemed unusually lethargic today. Harris threw his toys out of the pram when subbed, but bringing on Bally and Guthrie should have happened earlier to get back in the game and he was less influential than Lye or Harvey. I think the second goal should have been disallowed as Ben was deliberately blocked off and impeded, but we should'nt be conceding from set pieces like this anyway.

Boys you are not selling it to me, crowds dipping lower in the cold before Xmas, tax bills etc this could be one long winter...

Re: Chippenham v Sholing

Truly diabolical, very disappointing after last weeks heroics.  Harris had every reason to throw his toys out of the pram - why was he taken off?  Unbelievable.

That's it then - mid table to aim for.
