After watching last nights game I think Pratty would have taken Swindon's defence apart , whereas Beano looked almost pedestrian at times . So for me it's Pratt everytime. Discuss.

Ridiculous comment. Completely different standard so no comparison.
Go and get your coat.

I did see another former chippenham supporter fond of taking phonecalls at important moments, say that Beano wasn't a shadow of his former self.. against a football league team not Southern League opponents. Reality pill please!!

Pratty for me time after time. I actually think that Dave was a better player in his first stint with us than Beano and I loved them both of course but Pratty's work rate is just exemplary and with a little luck I think could have gone a lot higher than he did. Nevertheless I am very glad he is back in the Chippenham shirt and wouldn't swap him for Beano and honestly don't see where Beano fits into this side?

Have to agree with you entirely on this one Voice. Pratty has more to his game than Beano ever did when he was with us over 10 years ago. I watched the Eastleigh v STFC last Friday, with the sole intention of seeing how Beano would fair against league opposition, and I have to say that I was extremely disappointed with his performance. The Beano of old used to terrorise defenders with his physical presence, and I assumed he would pull STFC apart - but it never happened. Give me Pratty any day. An exceptional player with pace to burn and a fantastic attitude. Keep it up David.

That's the point I was trying to make, I did the same only watching the game to see what Beano was like now. Only one goal for Eastleigh this season and not always in the starting line up. I watched him closely during the game and he looked slow and off the pace and his positioning off the ball was poor. Then the next day I watched Dave Pratt , his work rate and aggression would see him get in most lower league sides. And as for Cooky's it's a different level, I've seen better sides than Swindon at our level, if they don't get their act together soon we'll soon have another local derby. "We're Chippenham old boys and we sing when we want."

Whatever hypothetical comparisons and claims we can make, the reality is that Beano has been a professional footballer for the past ten seasons whereas Pratty has not.

Don't really understand what that has to do with anything? Does that make him a better player? People are simply expressing who they would rather have out of the 2 in our current Chippenham team. Anyway... Me personally Pratty all day long!

Some people have very short memories.

This is not about having a short memory. This is about the here and now is it not? I believe the thread was started as to who Chippenham would rather have playing for them now? The simple way of breaking it down is this. When James was here he was knocking them away for fun and like many supporters I was there during those times and they were very exciting indeed. However the long and short of it is in terms of what Dave offers this Chippenham side I would say he is going to be a bigger difference maker in our season this year than James ever was. Beano and Gilroy's goals were fantastic but not enough to take us up and only time will tell whether Sandell's goals and Pratty's work rate will take us up but lets put it this way. If I was Collier and Ronnie Moore messaged me asking for a straight swap Constable for Pratt. He would be getting a very polite thanks but no thanks. Pratty is even better this time round for the maturity and class he has added to his game and bought the best out of Sands. Those two in tandem IMHO will win us this league
