V Dunstable Away.

Another very tough game. Dunstable sit just behind us in fourth place, so it is a very important game and a game we can't afford to loose. I'll be very surprised if they have the pace on the break that Banbury showed. We need to show a reaction to the Banbury defeat. I'm sure Mark and Tom will have the lads pumped right up for this game. We need a result so as not to let Slough get any further ahead of us. Good luck to Mark, Tom and the lads let's bring back the result we need.  😎

Re: V Dunstable Away.

What a day. Slough go down 4-1 at Basingstoke. Leamington go top. 3 points in it.

Newfan. Make it safe? It was safe. 2 was enough. Im convinced people love a silly comment on here.

Re: V Dunstable Away.

Was watching only on twitter and saw 0-2 then 1-2 at HT. Nervously waited to see FT win at 1-2 but fearing 2-2 or worse. What is silly about that?

Why so many keyboard warriors on here?

Re: V Dunstable Away.

Chippenham started the game very brightly and were straight onto the front foot, forcing a very strong athletic looking Dunsable side back.In the 5 minute a free kick was swung into the box Pratt flicked the ball goal wards and Tindle out muscled his marker to force the ball over the line to give Chippenham a 0-1 lead. We continued to push forward with Fergie and Smith  both getting in shots. We lost Nuno through injury and he was replaced by Preece. In the 21 minute Pratt was blatantly pushed in the middle of the box the big deffender not even looking at the ball, the ref who was well positioned pointed straight to the spot. Sandell stepped up and stroked the ball calmly into the corner, sending  the young keeper Jack Smith the wrong way, never a doubt 0-2. Dunstable manager then pushed an extra man forward and they began to come into the game. The game was delayed for a few minutes as Fergie back defending in his own box clashed heads and had to have his head bandaged up.  The ref turning  down a loud penalty appeal from Dunstable  as the lively Bossman pushed into the area.  In the 30 minute Bossman knocked the ball to Green and his powerful low shot across the goal beat the diving Chitty and sailed into the corner 1-2.  Half chances came for both sides but both goalkeepers dealt well with them. Just before the break Bossman latched on to a poor back header but shot just wide of the goal. Half Time 1-2.
The second half Dunsable brought on another sub as the Manager looked to push men forward to get back into the game. The game became more even and Chitty pulled off a couple of very sharp low saves. Smith who had been booked was replaced by Griff.  Preece was unlucky with a header from a corner. And Fergie saw another shot go just wide.  Dunstable continued to look dangerous and they had another loud penalty claim turned down by refferee Vallance. Sandell was booked for holding back his man as he tried to take a quick free kick. Dunstable had another shot come back off the post.  Chippenham weathered that storm and with Griff linking up well with Pratt and Sandell started to look a real threat again. A good move saw Pratt spin away from his marker and his goal bound shot produced a fantastic save from young goalkeeper Smith.  Late in the game Jones won the ball out wide and produced a quality cross Pratt took it first time but again Smith produced a quality reflex save pushing the ball onto the post.  Final score 1-2.  An exellent battling performance, the whole squad putting in a real 90 minute workman like performance.  Mark and Tom getting the reaction they were looking for after the Banbury defeat.
Team.  Chitty, Allen, Horgan, Tindle, Felix, Pook, Fergie, Smith, Pratt, Sandell, Jones. Subs. Griff, Preece, Campbell.  😎

Re: V Dunstable Away.

Great result and great report as usual from Jono. Was in Salisbury yesterday talking with some Whites fans in the pub. They still think they are Wiltshire's second team after Swindon and are really up for it next Saturday. I told them that I think that they will be put back in their place as the best team in south Wiltshire by Mark and the boys. " We're Chippenham old boys and we sing when we want."
