Re: V Kettering Town. Away.

An excellent report from Jono as always, and very much a 'smash and grab' victory against a strong Kettering side. The big positive from the game in my opinion was the calming influence that Darren Chitty had on the whole team. His encouragement and vision is what's been missing for a while I feel. Even at one down we took the game to Kettering, and once Sands got us level, Kettering visably tired against our pace up front. It was not a pretty performance, but as Jono mentioned, this is why we are in the league position we are through gritty performances like this. It also helped that teams around us dropped points, so this Saturday's game against Stratford Town is a 'must win' to keep the momentum going. One final point on Saturday's game, how on earth is the ground that Kettering share with Burton Grange Rangers up to SPL standard, let alone National League standard ? The clubhouse there is superb, one of the best I've been in. but the ground is totally open on the side opposite the clubhouse, thus allowing Joe Public just to wander in, which many did, as there is no security whatsoever. Tuesday evening will be interesting to see who the Manager puts out, as I'm sure the squad fringe players will definately be involved. COYMB

Re: V Kettering Town. Away.

Great report Jono.  Any truth in the rumour that, given the collapse of the dug-out, the Chairman has put the management team on a strict diet?

Re: V Kettering Town. Away.

I think there could be inside. I did see Mark and Tom on the low fat crisps after the game.

Re: V Kettering Town. Away.

Pooky told me in strictest confidence after the game that the cause of the wall in the dug-out to collapse was due to the extra stoing vindallo curry he had for supper on Friday night. He did go on to give me a blow by blow account, but I told him it was all a load of hot air !!!
