Re: FA Cup opponents

Many thanks indeed Charlie Bird. I've been trying to find the draw on the FA Website. What a waste of time that is. This tie looks winnable in view of their league position. I believe Billericay is in deepest Essex. Will have to brush up on my Essex accent then !!!

Re: FA Cup opponents

We'll do it via a replay.

Weymouth got the one I wanted - Home v Brimscombe & Thrupp.

Tie of the round has to be Stockport County v Salford City.

Re: FA Cup opponents

If you go on their Twitter site you can access the goals from their 2-1 victory over Bognor. The pitch looks a bit dodgy!

Re: FA Cup opponents

Pretty sure we went there when Chalky was Manager?  I think we played Chelmsford, who were ground-sharing with Billericay at the time?

Quite correct IL let's hope it's a good omen

CHELMSFORD CITY 1   3 CHIPPENHAM TOWN – Sat. 20th December 2003
(Played at New Lodge, Billericay)Fantastic FightbackThe conditions at New Lodge, Billericay, where Chelmsford play their home matches, were extremely difficult and both sides struggled to come to terms with the blustery cross wind.
Chelmsford could have taken the lead within the opening five minutes. The Chippenham defence failed to clear their lines and Gary McGee’s fierce volley from the edge of the box flew inches wide of the post.
McGee atoned for his miss on 36 minutes when Mark Hervin did well to parry Garry Cross’s header, but the ball fell kindly to McGee to fire home from close range.
For the second successive week Chippenham were able to enter the half time dressing room with their spirits raised. This time Adie Mings seized on defender Wes Faulkner’s mistake to equalise on the stroke of half-time.
On 65 minutes Chippenham took the lead when Mings and Ian Herring combined well to put Charlie Griffin free inside the area and he finished the move with a low shot into the corner of the net.
Four minutes later, despite being fouled, Mings battled down the right, and crossed the ball to Griffin who in turn found fellow striker, substitute Martin Paul, who emulated Griffin with a low shot past Paul Nicholls.
Team Mark Hervin, Ellis Wilmot, Wayne Thorne, Ian Herring, Tom Gould, Andy Robertson, Nathan Edwards, Keith O’Halloran, (Michael Green 62), Adie Mings (Gareth Davies 78), Charlie Griffin, Sam Allison (Martin Paul 55) subs not used: Colin Towler, Mark Badman
Star Man Adie Mings
Attendance 301

Re: FA Cup opponents

Blimey Charlie you've been digging deep, very impressive. Could have been a better draw for us, but it could have been a hell of a lot worse.  It's a game on form we can win,  and I very much doubt if they are as good a side as Poole Town. It would be great to get a decent following as it's the third round of the FA cup and getting close to a possible big game.   It would also be nice to have two good away results under our belt by the time we travel to Billericay Town. 😎

Re: FA Cup opponents

Very very difficult game on Saturday, no Pratty won't help our cause, but manager keeps on about it being a squad game.

Re: FA Cup opponents

Got to agree with that Regi. Kings Lynn Is a tough place to go, we were well beaten there last year.  I'd definetly take the draw especially with Prattie missing. And take the three points at Dorchester on Tuesday  although that can be a tough place to win. Four points would be great.  😎
