The only unbeaten team still.....think you may take some beating this season

Another great fightback - the St Ives manager must have lost his s**t in the dressing room after that
We must be putting the fear of God into many teams getting ready to face us in the league as clearly we do keep going right to the end even when we look dead and buried. Having a strong bench helps too.
Well done to all - I bet the bus home was rocking!
Hope a few more turn out to see the Banbury home game and the Poole FA Cup tie on the strength of performances like this.

WOW. This was was a game that brings out the full emotions of watching football. The absolute lows and the amazing highs.
The game started at a fairly slow pace with Chippenham having all the possession with St Ives set up with Five across the back Four across the Middle with a loan striker. We struggled to break them down and get in behind them, and chances were few and far between early on. There were early half chances for Sandell and Pratt, but mostly the St Ives defence exellenty marshelled by Lee Chaffey and skipper Charlie De' ath coped well with everything we threw at them. In the 15 minute with there first real attack St Ives were ahead, a long cross in from the right was tamely headed clear by the Chippenham deffence it dropped on the edge of the area to the lively winger Josh Dawkins he controlled it first time and played the the ball square to Tom McGowan who seemed to get the ball stuck under his feet and some how manage to toe poke it into the corner of the net with Kent thinking it was going wide it crept over the line off the post. The goal seemed to make St Ives sit even deeper but we were still finding it difficult to create real chances. Pook seemed to over stretch and was replaced by Mark Preece. Chippenham changed tactics and went Three at the back with Preece in the centre, Tindall left and Richards right with Chris Allen moving from full back to Central Midfield. Our best chance came when Sandell headed on and put Pratt clear but his exellent chip over the advancing keeper just cleared the bar. Chippenham continued to press mostly throwing high balls into the box that the St Ives deffenders we're dealing comfortably with. In the 34 minute a rare attack by St Ives saw McGowan fouled out wide by Allen. The resulting free kick was swung into the box and deffender Harry O'Malley climbed high above his man to send a powerful header that looped up and over Kent and perfectly into the far corner of the net. To make it 2-0. Mark & Tom reacted straight away taking off the hard working Nuno Felix and throwing on Alan Griffin, playing Three up front with Sandell wide right Griff through the middle and Pratt down the left. As the rain continued to lash down half time came with Chippenham 2-0 down. Chippenham started the second half strongly. Matt Jones threw a perfect free kick int the box and Preecies powerfull header was exelently pushed over by Tim Trebes in the St Ives goal. The resulting corner saw Griff rise highest and his looping header beat Trebes but was headed off the line by the covering deffender. Sandells long throws were causing the St Ives deffenders problems as Chippenham pushed men forward, Preece was unlucky with a header which was well saved again by Trebes. Chippenham continued to press and shots by Smith and Fergie flew narrowly wide.
Mark & Tom made there final change with Guthrie replacing Smith with 15 minutes remaining. St Ives continued to have the odd dangerous counter attack with the pacey Andrew Phillips bringing a couple of good saves from Kent. With around ten minutes remaining the lively Phillips was replaced by a deffender with St Ives having no outlet up front this allowed Richards and Tindall to push forward. With the game now being played in the St Ives half you sensed a goal might be coming, a long ball was thrown into box and for once the deffence failed to deal with it and there was Fergie in the right place to smash the ball high into the back of the net from close range on 84 minutes. Within a minute Chippenham were level as the exellent Andy Sandell fed the ball through to his strike partner Dave Pratt who controlled it in his stride and stroked it past Trebes and into the corner of the net. As the seconds ticked away the ball was again thrown into the box and in the resulting goal mouth scramble, some how Griff managed to toe it past the diving Trebes sending the small band of travelling supporters into dream land. And singing in the rain. St Ives pushed hard as the ref added on around 7 minutes of stoppage time but Chippenham held firm and saw the game out. My man of the match would be Andy Sandell who ran himself into the ground and caused St Ives problems all afternoon.
Team. Kent, Allen,Felix,Pook,Tindall,Richards,Fergie,Smith,Pratt,Sandell,Jones..
Subs. Preece,Griff,Jenkinson,Guthrie,Campbell.
What an amazing turn around and as I've previously said this team now has that winning mentality. Roll on the Banbury game at home on Tuesday. The team was buzzing on the way home. This could be a big three points come the end of the season, not many teams will win at St Ives. Well done Mark, Tom and the lads. 😎

Excellent report as ever jono - many thanks
Online!
I tried posting a link to the goals video on youtube but the forum won't allow me to until I have posted twice. Hopefully my next post will work.

Probably one of the greatest comebacks in the club's proud history, and thankfully I was there to witness it. Jono's report is absolutely spot on with the boy's 'never say die' attitude, which I'm sure will make every club in the SPL sit up and really take notice of us now. With 6 minutes to go we were pounding their goal, and from my perspective St. Ives seemed to run out of steam, as having gained the lead with 3 excellently taken goals, the boy's went searching for more !!! The spirit in this squad is unbelievable, and at the end the bench erupted, and we travelling fans could not believe what we had just witnessed. Yes the journey home was incredible, and I must admit the old head is still a bit sore this morning. I do not want to single out any one particular player as man of the match, because on the day the whole squad should have that award. They are the happiest, proudest group of CTFC players that I have seen in my long association with the club, and I think they will get even better. Look out SPL, the 'never say die' Bluebirds are after you. COYMB
