Home v Poole

Tough one

Re: Home v Poole

Yes very tough Inside. They have started well in the league above. But it's a game we can win. Especially at home and it should attract a descent crowd. It's one I'm looking forward to. 😎

Re: Home v Poole

Yes as tough one but one which will show how much we have improved since last season. This is a game against a well supported side who won the league last year, Mark and the boys will be really up for it and it is a game we could win. They will bring a lot of very vocal fans so we will need to get behind the team with hopefully a large home support. "We're Chippenham old boys and we sing when we want."

Re: Home v Poole

Personally I think this is the ideal draw for us, because playing a team from a higher league will be a good bench mark to see how far we have actually progressed from last season. Poole will not relish this tie one little bit because they will have looked at our form this season, and we are still unbeaten, and scoring goals from all positions in the team, which we have not done for a long time now. Just looked at the Poole forum and they think it will be a tough game too.

Re: Home v Poole

Agree with toyboy's sentiments. A home tie against a side that should be close to our capabilities will be a good test to see if we do have what it takes

Re: Home v Poole

I know there's some talk about it getting in the way of promotion, but here's the thing. Whatever happens niether team has much chance of being in the FA cup after late November. Get through the next couple of games and its a major financial and publicity boost. - Give me a cup run and we'll worry about the back end of the season when we're there. That said an early exit against a team of Pooles stature would be dissapointing but not the end of the world. We can't lose really.

Re: Home v Poole

I'm with George on this one. Not sure how many of you were up in the bar after the Moneyfields game, but the boy's and the management want to win every game, and fear no one at the moment. Confidence is sky high, and you only need to look at the way Matt Jones is playing at the moment to see that everyone in the squad wants to keep their place when called upon. Of course the league is our priority, but to have a good cup run will raise the profile of the club even higher. Took a quick look at the Poole forum earlier, and yes their fans are very apprehensive about coming to us, because any team that scores 9, regardless of the opposition, will bound to be noticed. The team for the forthcoming St. Ives game is another situation where the manager will pick the team to do the job, and bring back 3 points - COYMB.

Re: Home v Poole

Winning becomes a very good habit, players can't wait for the next game to come around, You get a real buzz at training. If you go a goal down you expect to pull it back and turn the game around. It's the same but in reverse if you get on a losing run. If you don't care about winning or losing you won't be in this side long. There is real competition for places in this side.  I know Mark and Tom want to win every game and that winner attitude is now installed into the players. I know the league is our bread and butter, but the FA Cup is something special not to mention the money that rolls into the club the further you go in the competition 😎
