Looking at the cup results I see a lot of SPL teams have failed to make the next round draw. Redditch, St Ives, Leamington, Stratford, Dunstable, Cinderford and Dorchester. Most of these lost to lower league opposition.
Who do you fancy in the next round? How about a home tie against Salisbury or Supermarine?

Salisbury at home would be good, but would prefer Hereford FC at home if they beat Romulas in their replay, for the potential crowd that game would generate. Like ourselves Hereford FC are unbeaten in the South West Division of the SL, but have won all of their 6 games so far.!!

I'd prefer a lower level team who got lucky on the 3rd.

Quite a few of the above are in the mix at the top of the table. Although great whilst it lasts, not forgetting the financial benefits, a cup run can be a distraction and once out teams' league form tends to dip. Only Slough and ourselves of the top sides are left in.

Ask the board, manager and supportersat Leamington if they would have liked to be in the draw? I think I know what the answer would be. Yes.

Nobody would wish to go out of the cup but my point is what is more important a cup run to Christmas or so or winning the league. Most of the recent Southern Premier winners have not had the distraction of a long cup run.
