Re: Chippenham Town v Cirencester Town.

Tindle to Sandell "You have to help out at both ends of the pitch" so not just me that thought he was coasting.

Collier tweeted that it was a below par performance. So he saw the same game I did.

We are top of the table and at home with our biggest gate so far and they are at the bottom, so it was a game we should have won with style. 4-1 flatters us - we made hard work of it and a fair bit of luck.

Probably a few tired legs pulling the game back on Saturday at St Neots, however.

Re: Chippenham Town v Cirencester Town.

Guys - we are top of the SPL because we deserve to be. OK yesterday's performance was not the greatest as the score may suggest, and in my view the final score-line did slightly flatter us, but the squad is far more resilient now and able to soak up what pressure the opposition put us under, and yesterday's game proved that. At times Cirencester did look half decent, in particular their captain (No. 5 Lippiat ?) who caused us all sorts of problems when going forward. But we weathered the storm and got another 3 points. Goals are coming from every department now, which is the signs of a good team in my view. Saturday I think will be a big test again for us against a team who are re-knowned for using intimidating, bully boy tactics. Mind you they've got to catch us first, as our pass up front will be one of our main strengths as the season continues. COYMB

Re: Chippenham Town v Cirencester Town.

Andy Sandell may well be an asset but even at this level of football we don't need prima donnas who don't work for the team, not the first time he has looked in a sulk when things are not going his way.
Promotion will be one or lost by the team not one individual and success will bring others as good as or better than Andy Sandell through the door, if he plays with the wrong attitude then he should be dropped like anyone else.

Re: Chippenham Town v Cirencester Town.

As said. 2 assists Saturday. He chased everything and worked hard. Also his assist for the 2nd was real quality. Outside of the foot mm perfect. He has 4 goals in 7 ganes. And also id say about 5 assists atleast. People need to get real. Top league goalscorer last season and started well this season. Start appreciating what we got and not what we had 3 seasons ago and before battling relegation with players that just wernt good enough.

Re: Chippenham Town v Cirencester Town.

I totally agree with Stratford here. On his day Andy Sandell is arguably the best striker at SPL level, and I'm not convinced he is playing on full power at the moment. At times you will see him rub the back of his left thigh, which suggests the hamstring is still causing him issues. I'm sure the manager is well aware of this, and that is why he brings Andy off with say 10/15 minutes to go. I am also sure he is one of those player's who responds better with perhaps an arm around the shoulder approach if things aren't going his way. As Stratford rightly said, compare the quality we have now to what we had 3 years ago - there is no comparison. COYMB
