Eastleigh have sacked manager Chris Todd. New manager Ronnie Moore - wonder if he rates Beano?

Think its high time we gave up on the Beano gig Charlie lol! We have very talented striking options and honestly any move for James right now would be too costly and he is not the vibrant young, pacey striker he once was. He has a very different game now and although would still be a class signing wouldn't be as effective as Sands who plays a very similar role at Chippenham as James Constable does for Eastleigh. Pratty working off him is also working a dream right now. I don't think we need to change something that is working 5 Games in and we should have this tin pot league wrapped up by Christmas ay Leamington? HAHA

Nice one Voice, but I can imagine what Leamington's response would be to that. Back to the man that is James Constable, as you say Beano seems to have a much more midfield role these days with Eastleigh. As you rightly say he is not the rampaging bull type centre-forward that he was 10 years ago, when he made his mark with us then went onto to Walsall, Shrewsbury, Oxford et al. Should he become available as a result of a managerial change at Eastleigh, I cannot see where he would fit in to be honest. Would certainly be too expensive as well.

It's strange at the start of the season before this team assembled I would have shouted loudest for his resigning but with Sands and Pratty up the top with Griff as an impact sub and many talented midfielders a solid back four and ultimately playing in a good formation in the right way, like you've mentioned I just don't see a place for him right now at the cost he would definitely incur. And Sands and Pratty have definitely not done enough wrong to warrant losing their respective places no matter who it is too. I think to be honest we will come out of the league this year as winners and strengthening for the Conference South has been done this year if I'm honest.

My thoughts exactly Voice. Teams with asperations of being promoted usually gather a squad capable of competing at the next level, which is what our management team have done in my view. I still think we are one player short of that goal, and in my view we need a strong attaching midfield player (another Rob Dean would be good) to be the link between defence and the forward line. I understand Jordan Roberts is with his Dad at Highworth Town this season, with a view to getting his fitness levels and stamina back to were he was the season before last, so that could be an opportunity for CTFC. But if that type of player became available now, I'm sure the management team would snap him up immediately. Even the ref and his assistants said in the VIP Lounge after the Leamington game that CTFC were the best side they had seen so far this season, so clearly we have come a long way from the disappointment of the final few weeks from last season - COYB
