A much more competitive game than Saturday as Chippenham came up against a decent Didcott side, an evenly matched first half was dominated by the hot sun as players found it difficult to put in there usual performances. Chippenham moved the ball well at times but the well organised Didcott defence limited Chippenham to only a few half chances. Preece,Griff, and Miles John & Fellix looked the stand out players. Half time came with the sides locked at 0-0. The second half saw the introduction of the Chippenham big guns with Pratt,Sandell,Smith,Fergie,& Guthrie and things changed almost immediately with the ball being moved far more quickly. Good movement between Smith, Pratt and Guthrie saw Sands finish off a flowing move to make it 0-1. It wasn't long and it was 0-2 with Pratt excellently controlling a through ball to slide his early shot into the corner of the net giving the keeper no chance. Two more goals followed shortly afterwards the first what seamed a harsh penalty given against the Didcott centre back for pushing was well slotted away by Sands. The fourth another good move finished by Sandell for his hat trick. There was time for the hard working Didcott side to snatch a late consolation the ball was flicked on across the goal for the striker to head home from point blank range giving Kent no chance. Final score 1-4. 😎

Thanks Jono for an excellent match report. I should be at the Calne game on Saturday " We're Chippenham old boys and we sing when we want."Â
