For crying out loud, the guy has yet to be 'tried' and you have found him guilty already; I hope that I never have to face a trial with you on the jury!

Re: FROME

I havent found him guilty. Just saying he is no longer involved with Frome so thats what I believe will happen to them. As everyone knows he put money in. And obviously that will no longer happen.

Not sure where you get the "no longer involoved with Frome " part from?? As the article states

"The club continues to support Nick whilst the process is being carried out"

I don't know the ins and outs but only two months ago Man City defender Demichelis was done for betting

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35970985

but as per usual they get away with a fine not a ban as money talks (and hugely paid Lawyers no doubt) but we all know at lower level you get hit worse, same as playing ineligible players etc, one rule for league clubs and one for non league, always has been.

We just await possible sanctions and deal with it from there.

I think most of us know despite the new rules betting still goes on amongst players and managers it's just Nick has been caught

Re: FROME

Strange, this gets a mention in the Frome Standard, NonLeague Paper and even the Weymouth Forum but nothing in the Frome Fans Forum. Any reasons Fromie? Just wondering, that's all.

To be fair we don't get that many posters on there (same as fans through the gate ) and obviously we all sort of knew something was up when he was missing end of season from the dugout so a lot was discussed then, plus we had a supporters club AGM the other week and discussed more so think it has all been spoke about to be honest with no need to repeat it on forum.

We obviously don't know the charges, or whether it will be a ban, or fine, or not so I suppose until the FA hearing has happened there isn't actually much to discuss over it as we don't know how, or if, it will affect us.

As he is currently suspended we have covered ourselves by bringing two ex managers back to work alongside the current coaching pair so we are covered should a ban be forthcoming but like I said no one knows how it will affect us

Re: FROME

I heard it goes back as far as his Paulton days. And he was betting against his teams to LOSE. If thats the case I believe a lenghty ban is on the cards. I cant see him paying anyones wages while hes suspended is what I meant. I dont think he will be back anytime soon.

I'm not sure. As you can imagine plenty of stories have been going around so until the case is heard by the FA and findings announced I guess no one will fully know

Re: FROME

amazing that Stratford knows all the details of the Frome finances,  and the FA charges even though they haven't been made yet! However one thing that really has come out of this is how low some people will stoop to have a dig at a former Club or individual.

A ban is inevitable I think but no idea how long it will be - regardless of all that there's a level of dignity you would hope and expect people to keep, not necessarily supporters, that's fair game.

Betting on football runs a lot deeper than one individual and this could open a massive can of worms should the FA decide to spread their net throughout even the local Southern League clubs.
