Pre Season is a god awful time for fans of the beautiful game. So why don't we try and fill it with hearty debate and a little good natured fun. Your first challenge good people of Chippenham is too come up with a Fantasy XI simply fill out the classic 4-4-2 Formation below and then discuss should give enough people food for thought.... Especially strikers

GK For me James Bittner absolute monster between the sticks and always felt a degree of confidence when he was in the team that we wouldn't concede often.
LB Any player that gets taken from Chippenham to the Championship and then 1 year later becomes a Premier League teams record signing deserves a spot in the side. Tyrone Mings, wasn't with us long and a real Chippenham stalwart but for sheer quality you have to say the lad gets in.
RB Quite a difficult position to fill because we have had a lot of makeshift right backs in the past but one man stands out for me because of the way when he left I really didn't feel we were the same team. My right back is Ross Adams.
CB'S A lot of great centre backs miss out because I just have to pick these two together. Maybe we have had individually better centre backs but for the partnership they shared, where it took us and for the sheer brilliance of them together on their day I would pick Lee Burns and Ian Murphy. They had a great read on each others game and also both knew how to be a menace from a set piece, Murphy even being our penalty taker for a spell. Wembley simply would not have happened were it not for the solid foundation these two provided at the back and Lee also makes it as my Captain for the team.
RM Really hard position for me because it is not a position I feel we have been blessed but I am going for Ross Stearn because of firstly the impact he made when he was in a blue shirt and secondly because of what he is going on to achieve. He will be a big player for Sutton in the Conference season and scores a good amount of goals for a midfielder.
LM No questions asked Steve Brown. He was the most naturally gifted player in the Wembley run we all loved so much and a pleasure to watch. Always chipped in with a goal, sweet left foot and crossed a ball better than most I have seen at HP down the years.
CM Iain Harvey. Came to us because of his good relationship with then CTFC man Mark Badman. Who would have thought then that 10 years down the line he would still be pulling the shirt on and giving 110%. The man is a true club legend and although he loved a yellow card and had more chance of getting a drink out of him than a goal you really wouldn't get too many that gave more and worked harder for us.
CM "The man can't pass, he can't shoot , he can't cross and he runs like a woman" How then does he make it into anyone's Fantasy Football Team? simple................ be John Woods! Absolute legend.
FW James Constable. The man was incredible for us a scorer like him and his absolute chemistry with Dave Gilroy was a pleasure to watch. Either Beano or Gilly could have made this spot but for me Beano just edged him in a Chippenham shirt and went on to play with good clubs and have a good career.
FW So many people could be here but for me it just has to be my boyhood hero Steve Tweddle. We have had better strikers quite akin to Johnny Woods in the midfield but he was just so lethal in front of goal. A true goal scorer and truly the pin up boy of the Wembley team that went down in folklore. Honourable mentions go to Dave Pratt who I think is the next best we have had and obviously the Griffins Charlie and Alan who both are cult heroes but that's the beauty of this little exercise, we all have our favorurites.

Mings

Scott Walker has to feature as probably the most gifted player I have seen in a Chippenham shirt.

Another fantastic player. Also Grantley Dicks gets a mention for the best goal I have ever seen scored at Harnish Park. That belter from left back that just seemed to hit the net like a bullet must have been a good 40-50 yards

Bittner or maybe Puddy in goal Ross Adams and Tyron Mings as full backs. Tindle and Gary Thorne in the centre of defence. Scotty Walker and Sam Allison on the wings. Beano and Gilroy up front with Herring and Harv's in midfield. You can come up with various combinations which on their day could be a match for any team at our level.
