Redditch United v Chippenham Town.

Well we know we must win and hope for a miracle with several others losing there games. Redditch are a very good side with a lot of pace going forward, they have scored a lot of goals this season. But our confidence is back. Ever since Mark and Tom made 3 substitutions against Bigleswade after going 0-2 down early in the second half and we scored the first goal, 2 more goals followed in the next 10 minutes. It was like someone had turned the light on. The light stayed on with a decent display at Cambridge. I'm hoping we can carry that confidence into the game at Redditch and that the light stays on. But a very tough game. Good luck to Frome and Fromie at Hungerford tday. If we'd had Fromes current form we wouldn't be worrying about others losing today we'd allready be in the playoffs.
Good luck to Mark, Tom & the boys.  😎

Re: Redditch United v Chippenham Town.

The league have got to do something about these end of season fixture pileups that keep happening. If both Redditch and Kettering make the playoffs they'll both be playing four games in just over a week.

Re: Redditch United v Chippenham Town.

And actually a bigger problem is what happens if Redditch's pitch is still waterlogged for their game against Kettering on Monday?!?

It's not entirely the Southern League's fault the FA have grading regs at every step that cites the size of the refs dressing room number of turnstiles etcetera yet does not bother with the state of the pitch. Kettering, Cambridge, Paulton and Redditch in particular play on surfaces that you find in Sunday Leagues. Until teams are forced to have half decent surfaces this will continue to be a problem.

Re: Redditch United v Chippenham Town.

The league are the ones organising the fixtures though, no?

A bit of common sense could prevent this - leave the last few midweeks free and don't try to cram playoffs in just five days. We finished the 09-10 season with four games in 8 days and also could have played a playoff semi then final in 3 days a few seasons before.

It would be interesting though to see if other leagues have the same problem or if its just the southern league...

Re: Redditch United v Chippenham Town.

Cambridge are playing Stratford on Tuesday 26th, 3 days after the season should have ended so interesting hwta happens with other fixtures.....may not give some much time to arrange a play off match

Another point Kettering vs Bideford is off today so Bideford will now have to make the 480 mile, 8 hour round trip midweek having already been relegated......would you bother??

It was the FA who insisted the SL was increased to 24 teams which hasn't helped. I see Chesham have 4 games to play.
