Chippenham Win and Poole Slip Up

With us winning 1-0 away at Paulton and Poole throwing a 2 goal lead away at home to Biggleswade we really need to maintain focus now. This league has always been the same. Everyone can beat everyone else and teams down the bottom can just as easily dent our hopes of promotion the same way a Redditch or Poole can given the chance. Every game is a cup final now, Poole will feel very unsettled by all of this as only a couple of months ago they were flying and champions elect. Game by Game point by point all we have to do is keep the effort levels through the roof. Dare I say it!! This really feels like our year!!

Re: Chippenham Win and Poole Slip Up

I see the Poole Town forum is totally dismissive of our chances stating the Championship is a three horse race between them Redditch and Hitchin. Let's hope our lads are made aware of this.

Re: Chippenham Win and Poole Slip Up

Poole always slip away they aren't gonna win this league. My heart says Chippenham my head says Redditch. Hitchin will lose a lot of there games in hand as well. I just think we need to take it game by game and hope that we get that bit of luck that has been missing in previous title challenges. The major difference is other years the league winner has been a classy outfit that looked like winning from day 1. It isn't the case this year Poole do not look like champions elect and Redditch look the closest thing to a quality team that could take it. Hitchin have games in hand but they have to be won and as for us. As I've said before this could well be our year

Re: Chippenham Win and Poole Slip Up

I cannot think of a better motivator for the squad than Poole being dismissive of our chances of sneaking the SPL title. We are in this lofty position because we deserve to be in that position. Take a look at the Weymouth forum and there is a lot of ill feeling towards the manager and his staff being they have under-achieved again this season. They have all but given up of reaching the play-off's. What we have a CTFC is an excellent management team who have built a squad capable of taking on the stronger teams in this league, and we have done that all season. Agreed, Redditch took us to the cleaners at home, and looked at class act. But we have moved on from that and are second on merit. The chasing pack may have games in hand, but we have the points in the back. In my view that could be a big advantage to us as the season comes to a climax
