Re: Chesham dilemma

Is this the first time we've played them since that game?

Re: Chesham dilemma

No - we've played them on numerous occasions since then.

Re: Chesham dilemma

They rose to dizzy heights and then fell back again.

Re: Chesham dilemma

Slough Town who play Hitchin this Saturday have not played a game since Boxing Day. They'll either be raring to go or very rusty.

Re: Chesham dilemma

Should be a good game we have a sizable amount of motivation against Histon as if we needed anymore at the moment. Every win is crucial because this race is far from run. A lot of good teams at the top end of the division all vying for playoff spots and we need to make sure we are in that group again as after being 1st/2nd for this long it would be heartbreaking to miss the final show because of taking our eyes off the prize in these games. Mark is clever enough to keep the boys reminded of that and team spirit is high so here's to another 3 points!!

Re: Chesham dilemma

Totally agree with all your thoughts here Voice. Confidence must be very good at the moment, after 3 straight wins and a shed load of goals scored. In a way I do not think Tuesday's postponement will have stopped the momentum because the boys deserved a mini break from games. What I find so pleasing about this current run is that we are only 4 points away from Poole. Could they repeat last season's disastrous loss of form after Christmas ? time will tell. We cannot be overtaken tomorrow, even if we do not get 3 points

Re: Chesham dilemma

Poole was going to be my next point. They are showing signs of weakness and if they can just be a bit weaker and other team in the chasing pack can keep up good form then Poole are "sadly" right back in the mix for playoffs and the winner is anyone's guess. I personally think Redditch are the outside punt along with Weymouth but I would be lying if I didn't think Chippenham have a better chance now than they have in the last 6 years to get into the National South

Re: Chesham dilemma

Some interesting teams suggested there Voice. Redditch will be there or hereabouts. Best side I've seen at Hardenhuish this season by a long way. Weymouth in my view will fall away as I understand there is dis-harmony in the dressing room down there. For me Hitchin are going to be the dark horses with games in hand. There also seems to be some concern that Poole may not be allowed to compete at National League South level, should they win the SPL, due to their facilities. Because the grading system has been reviewed again by the FA, what was acceptable last season, is not acceptable this season. Truro City for example, who are vacating their current ground at the end of this season, will need to spend in excess of £50K on the ground to even be eligible to play in the play -off's, only for the whole lot to be demolished afterwards - utter madness

What a bizarre rule. No problem with us playing them twice in a week though, why should there be?

Sadly I was proved right
