Newly promoted Stratford will be a very tough game. Like a a lot of teams in our division they have a very good home record, won 4, drawn 1, losing only once. With the squad that Mark & Tom have put together I fully expect us to get something from the game. Confidence is sky high at the club with real competion for places. As seen against Larkhall in midweek there are some very good youngsters coming through. Things are looking up at Chippenham, we have developed a winning mentality. The management and board have set high standards. And with players like Chris Allen joining the club the future is looking very good. Good luck to Mark, Tom & the lads.

Good point in the end, although we done more than enough to win the game, i think we got drawn into a physical battle, rather than keep it and play a bit .Poor crowd from their point of view i'm sure.......

We started the game very brightly, a long through ball forward chased hard by Sandell & Holgate saw the Stratford keeper come racing out of his penalty area arriving just before the on rushing forwards, making a mess of his headed clearance heading the ball up in the air straight to Holgate who controlled quickly and lobbed the ball back over the stranded keeper into the empty net, giving Chippenham a second minute lead. We had several half chances in the next 20 minutes, but gradually Stratford got back into the game with there hustle bustle style. On 32 minutes Stratford were level a long cross field ball into the box saw us fail to win the first header and the ball was flicked on to the lively Edwin Ahenkorah who had the easiest tap in from close range giving Kent no chance. The second half was fairly even but we had two good chances late on to win the game with Sandell bursting through and curling a shot just wide and substitute Ollie Taylor heading inches wide. Ryan Campbell looking very sharp on as a second half substitute. Chris Allen looked impressive on his debut always busy and neat and tidy on the ball. We did miss the injured Mark Preece. But Jon Beedon came in his place and had a really solid game. The pitch was very hard and bumpy and with a strong wind blowing, making good football very difficult. Stratford were a solid well organised side, they have only lost once at home this season. The draw was probably a fair result, a little bit disappointed we didn't pick up the three points.
It is now very important we get a good result at home to Weymouth on Tuesday. Before the big Maidstone FA cup game on Saturday. š
