Larkhall

Does anyone know if it the normal entrance charge tonight? Don't think some people would be to happy to pay 1st team prices if it's not a 1st team that is fielded. Perfectly understandable if its a mixed side but at least let people know what to expect.

Re: Larkhall

Its a competition game why would it be cheaper just because he elects to rest a few. Should we charge more when Sandell plays?

Common practice amongst league clubs to charge less for cup games.

Re: Larkhall

May be wrong but I  think it might be a case of resting a few so don't  many 1st team players risking injury by playing in a competition which isn't a priority. It's different paying a 1st team entrance charge for a league game and its a weak team due to injuries etc but it's another when you by choice play a weaken team. So RP if you go tonight and the team consists mainly of Chip Park players you don't mind paying £10? If the club don't treat it as a prioity game why should you have to pay full price? As I pay a concession entrance fee I will be going but I know a few who aren't going as don't want to pay £10 when its likely a weaken team will be played.

Re: Larkhall

Good to see some of the reserves playing - and playing well in positions that clearly suit them.  I'm not sure that's always the case when they're playing for the Ressies.  One lad (Pring - who was at Cambridge United in the past) plays for the "thirds" in the Wiltshire County league.   Work that one out.  We've got some very promising youngsters - I just hope they're given the right encouragement and opportunity.  Progress in this competition will help that.
A bit of a risk playing Kent out on the pitch for 20 minutes (though he did well to be fair to him) - I was more concerned about him getting injured but we got away with it.

Re: Larkhall

For those of us how could be bothered to go it was quite an entertaining game. I thought it was a big risk to let Kent come on as we have some big games coming up and as one of our star players it would have been tragic if he had got injured. Lots of new faces on the field with our number 8 looking good. Does anyone know how much prize money is at stack in each round? Finally Larkhall were hard done by as that was never a penalty and if it had been given at the other end I would have been screaming at the ref. Oli was going no where and the ball was not under his control.

Re: Larkhall

Entertaining game last night with best moment when we got a penalty. Ref got it completely wrong as looked like Ollie just fell over, Doubt if we would get such luck in an important game no disrespect to the Red Insure Cup!!! Agree our number 8 looked at good player and certainly didn't look out of his class.

Re: Larkhall

Caught the second half and it was a good win. The third team were training at Stanley Park and many drove from SP to catch the second half. It was good for them to see the youngsters playing but many were disappointed to see the first team keeper given 20 mins at the end of the game rather than one of them given an opportunity. What was the point of playing Kent? Lots of the regulars around me were also flummoxed!
