Re: Chippenham v Frome.

Some really outstanding defending in a right old battle, backed up by Kent's triple-save heroics.  Great result, that's all that matters.  Well done lads - superb effort all round.

Re: Chippenham v Frome.

Totally agree Inside, the defence were again very solid thought out, with one of Kents saves totally brilliant. Scott Bevan came in and played really well, we now have a good squad with a lot of competition for places. The winning goal by Bally was a quality finish and worthy of winning a very tight game. We do miss Sandell badly, but we are now looking very difficult to beat. An extra £3000 in the bank tonight. Roll on the next round. Well done lads.

Re: Chippenham v Frome.

Another close game last night. The lads again played their hearts out for a hard fought victory. One thing I would say is that Taylor doesn't seem to get the benifit when decisions are made by the ref, is it because he's a big lad and refs think he shouldn't go down easily. If it was Campbell I think the verdict would have been different. Great goal by Bally now for the next round. Good luck to Bradford tonight.

Re: Chippenham v Frome.

Another tight close game where it looked like one goal was always going to win it unfortunately we missed our chances and you took yours.
Positive signs for us though moving forward, not letting in 4/5 goals for starters

Re: Chippenham v Frome.

Over the course of the two games Frome did not look a side second from bottom and overall I think we were fortunate to win. We won mainly through excellent defending, some good fortune but most of all because Frome's shooting was absolutely woeful. Barn door comes to mind! However, I am sure we will be in for a much tougher game in a couple of weeks when they visit us for a league game.
One thing about last night's game from our point of view. In the first half Ashan Holgate was not impressed with him in the slightest. Second half a different player, all over the pitch, tackling, in fact non stop effort. He has the ability given the clubs he has played for so please more of what we saw in the second half,

Re: Chippenham v Frome.

I've always been impressed when Holgate plays against us but often reading other forum members views of him i get the impression he doesnt always perform like that in other games?

Bunyard has come in and obviously rightly so sorted the defence out with 3 signings he had play for him last year and last 3 games we have only conceeded 2 goals total compared to Fozzy's last 4 games of 4,5,2 and 5 but now obviously the aim will be sorting the attack out.

Sibbick hasnt scored for us yet and think they said it's his longest spelll with no goal but you could see last night his lack of pre season is costing him as he is no where near fit.

Bally always seems to save his better games against us but thought Smithy was very quiet over both games.

I'm sure the team will look alot different when we visit again in two weeks presuming you have no FA cup replay.
