The embarrassment that calls itself the Southern League is desperately scrambling around to find an additional club, or one of its divisions will again be forced to run one short. This latest disaster is mainly self inflicted, after the late decision to throw Clevedon Town out of the league, seven step four clubs were moved sideways. Flackwell Heath from around High Wycome suddenly found themselves in the south west division and bravely put two fingers up to the SL and FA and refused promotion due to an almost three fold increase in travelling. Redhill who were relegated from the Ryman last season were offered the vacancy in the SW of the Southern League but somewhat surprisingly decided travelling from East Surrey was a tad too far. The FA and SL are rumoured to be trawling Northern France for a suitable replacement. When will they sort out step 3 and 4!

And that's not the whole story! Have a look at the Farnborough FC fan's forum, and scroll down to post number 31479 and after. Also this link. What a mess!

Pity, I was hoping that Salisbury FC might begin their new era in the Southern League.

Why should Salisbury be let back in at our level, after years of living beyond their means. I'd have stuck them in the Salisbury & District

I wasn't suggesting that Salisbury be let back in at 'our level' (3), but at Level 4, (Div.1 South & West). And anyway, those people who have royally shafted the club and the supporters are no longer in office. Loyal fans who supported their club for many years deserve better than crooks such as Otail Touzar. Every time football clubs get into financial difficulties, it is always supporters who suffer, very rarely those 'cocked it up' in the first place. Heaven forbid if we have to go through the agony of those fans of Salisbury, Hereford, Kettering, etc., to name just three.
