Agree with everything that has been said. Our passing was slow and sloppy and Redditch always seemed quicker to the ball. And the number of times Kent did short goalkicks was baffling so I presume he has been told to do just that. OK every now and again but as Inthe box says this diamond shape just isn't working. All this passing across the backline just gives the opponents time to form up and like last night they had very quick forwards who immediately pressed the defenders into making mistakes and there were enough of them. If something isn't working then don't persist with it.All too often last night particularly down the right there were wide open spaces with not a Chippenham player not in sight limiting the passing options. Connor McCormack has done an excellent job this season but all too often he seems to be left all alone on that right hand side as if he is expected to be a right back and right winger ( sorry I know an old fashion term). We have some decent wide players ie James and Luke who seem to be playing through the middle which in my opinion is not making the best of their strengths.
So far this season we have been very patient watching the games and accepting the results because of the limitations put on the manager due to injuries etc but now as these postings indicate the fans patience is wearing thin and the way we are playing is now questioned as against the better team our method of play just doesn't seem to be working. On Saturday ( and against Hereford ) we beat two very willing but young sides who gave us time to play and made us look better than we are but apart from the cup wins these have been our only recent successes and as George says as for beating teams in front of us...... If things continue as they are then it won't be long before there aren't too many teams behind us to beat!!
Comments most of us make on here about games are as we see it and for the most part I think are pretty good summing ups of the game. We do this because we care about the club and will continue to turn up. Although last night's attendance was pretty poor I would put most of that down to football on TV and a rotten night weather wise. The next Saturday game will be more of an indicator as to how many peoples patience has run out.

On a positive note, the team is a lot more entertaining to watch than it has been for the past 2 seasons. But last night was more of the same, we create lots of chances with flashes of excitement but fail to put the ball in the net - meanwhile we give goals away with mistakes or simple sloppy marking.
Redditch are a fast counter-attacking side and they come at you in numbers, so the defenders have to decide to go with the man with the ball or the supporting runners. Hemel did the same to us, and so did Paulton at the end of that game. Not sure if the diamond is to blame, but when we go forward there is a lack of movement from the players supporting the one with the ball - we are static waiting to see what he does or it seems admiring his footwork. Coupe was yelling at them in the stands for more movement, but nothing changed
Connor was excellent in the first half and had their defender beat, who was lucky only to get a yellow when he eventually chopped Connor down. But after that we didn't seem to get the ball to Connor - surely with the defender on a yellow he should have been encouraged to get at him?
Tindle was superb and worked really hard to stay with their fast strikers, apart from a rush of blood having had a foul in their box ignored or waved away by the ref, he then committed a silly foul back in defence and got a yellow. The ref should have spoken to him and clamed him down (in fact could have had a yellow for dissent) but a stupid card to pick up.
Ballanger was out of sorts and disinterested, so no surprise to see him subbed.
Good to see Smith in the stands in good spirits despite his broken nose - hope the op goes well, I think we miss him.

Improvements have clearly been made,as stated now playing a brand of passing football very pleasing to the eye,but goals is what we are missing and after listening to a conversation last night in the stand i understand the club have been and are very busy chasing the man needed. Last night NO Coupe Phillips Smith a less than half fit Griffin all key players. What questions do we need to ask by the way ?

Joiner, did you know that Redditch had no-one over the age of 23 in their squad last night so sadly our record of being able to beat the "youngsters" has come to an end and maybe Bally is playing through the middle because we've no-one else.
Connor got a lot of the ball but there was no end product, even after Griff came on how many crosses did he deliver, even from set pieces. All very well going past the defender but he either went inide or failed to deliver a cross.
As for the diamond, I'd like to see Ferguson at the base, he's got quick feet and can spot a pass.
Blueboo, all very well having those players you mentioned back but they're not going to add pace, movement or creativity to the side are they, and as you wanted a question,,,,what will happen to Preece when Coupe returns, Tindle out or moved to full back?
Yeah, the football's improved but we're like Arsenal, too much pretty but pointless passing and not enough quickness in the play, we give teams to drop back and organise as it takes us so long to get forward. Not advocating the long ball, had enough of that under Mings but the balance is currently wrong.

To answer Misterblowy's question, have we improved since last year? Too right we have. That 9-0 defeat was a really low point, and from that moment on it was all about survival. Having achieved that MC & TJ have started getting a squad together that is competitive. But it's just that, a start. Everyone knows we need a cutting edge, but there's the rub. Some haven't got the bottle, some want too much money, so we might have to be patient there. We're on 20 points I think? We probably didn't have that many at Christmas last season. Keep the faith.

Only 7 teams have let in more goals than us,but only 7 teams have scored less than us.At the moment the defence virtually picks itself, but in midfield we have plenty of options.Could fergi and griff play up front together.Sorry Edwards doesnt seem create or threaten enough.Simpson hasnt had long enough in a game to show his worth. How about Harvey and Osman playing together, they must know each other pretty well having spent the last 2games on the bench.Thought last night Redditch ran on to the ball creating space allowing others to attack the ball.Remember there is still 6months of the season to go,agood run of results and things can look a lot different so lets still be positive.

Lets be positive billyb......Come on be fair this is Chippenham Town, most prefer the moaning and groanining side i think,Teams are built ovrt time have many cosidered budget and comparisons to others,as for Park players it is a step too far for many i feel. However i am happy and Yes we are moving in the right direction.
