Sholing

Great result, winning 1-0 with a early goal from Luke Ballinger.  That was a real banana skin so well done lads!!!

Re: Sholing

Really good result, as rightly said that was a tough draw.

Re: Sholing

This was a must win game against a decent Sholing side, they seem to thrive on the cup, winning the Vase final at Wembly last season. We'll bank the £3000 plus and look forward to Mondays draw. A good all round team performance, with Brian Smith or Jordan Robert battling it out for my man of the match. Roll on a good home draw

Re: Sholing

Just looked on Southern league web site and scorer was Harvey 7 mins.  Some shock results Truro beaten at home by Larkhall.

Re: Sholing

Another battling performance yesterday and 100% committment by all the players especially as it was yet again a team put together from who was available with a number of players playing out of position. We deserved to win as with no disrespect to Sholing they were not that great a side.
An old chestnut, communication.Yesterday there were rumours  about various players. Someone mentioned Tyron Leigh had left and Ellis Dunton was on his way back to Circencester. It would be nice for the club to confirm or deny these rumours as like yesterday you are left wondering where certain players have got to when we couldn't name a full bench ( I think even Matt Coup was named as a sub who with his injury had no chance of playing and wasn't even kitted up). For example didn't we have a player called Zak Evans play a couple of early games this season. Well where is he now? I'm afraid as a number of people have pointed out on this forum communication is not the club's strength. It's not having a go at anyone it's just a plea to be kept informed of what is going on.
As nothing about yesterday's game on club's website or on Gazette website for those interested the team was
Kauppinen, Mc Cormack, Tindle, Beeden,Monks, Harvey, Pook,Smith, Guthrie,Ballinger ,Roberts.

Re: Sholing

Talking of the Gazette, have we been the victim of some sort of a cut-back? I used to enjoy Dan Barnes' live tweets, but there haven't been any this season. Matchday summaries, particularly for the away matches, now take much longer to materialise.

Re: Sholing

See statement on official club website re communication. That should put our mind at ease, not...!

Re: Sholing

Players are always going to come and go.Everyone wants to play. Some can sit on the bench week after week with little chance of playing.Hopefully with cup games coming up everyone will get a chance.Injures and suspensions will always change the make up of a team.Lets hope the manager can keep the squad he has at the moment.Youll always need a squad of about twenty but only sixteen are going to be selected for each game so some are naturally going to be dissapointed.

Re: Sholing

Read the statement on the club's website and no problem with what the statement says. However, I'm a bit confused as the report by Wil Hulbert on Saturday's game says that the squad was further reduced IN MIDWEEK by the decision of Ellis Dunton to return to Cirencester. So when I posted the question it appears he had already left so why couldn't it be confirmed officially as patently it wasn't a rumour but fact?  And just read the Wilts and Glos Standard where reference to Dunton playing for Cirencester's Development Team at the weekend. Players come and go but often it seems to take an age for any news to filter down to the fans.
Would still like to know if Zak Evans is still at the club. No I haven't heard any rumours just interested to know what's happened to him.
