    Alan Griffin

    Reluctant to post this as I have waiting  for posts from those better informed than me but nothing has surfaced. Strong rumours circulating at Cirencester on Saturday that Alan has received medical advice that suggests he should seriously consider his playing days are over or risk permanent damage. If this is correct ( and I hope not) it is a huge blow to a very loyal servant of the club and also to the club itself.

    I must admit I heard similar and it would be a massive blow for both the club and the player himself. "The Griff" has been superb for us over a long period of time, he never fails to give anything less than 100% and has been a right handful up front and scored some excellent goals! he has also been good coming back for set pieces and if it's true it will be a big blow.

    I have to admit Bluebird 2006 that I was of a similar mind, and reluctant to mention this dreadful news on the Forum, but I was advised by a senior official within the club last Friday that sadly Griff has been advised to consider the long term implications should he wish to return from the serious injury that has plagued him for a while now. In my view Griff is one of the finest players to represent CTFC for a long time, and quite frankly is irreplaceable in his contribution to the team and the club. He was very up-beat at the Cirencester match on Saturday, but of course he did not mention his news. Open for debate I guess - How do you replace the legend that is Griff ???

    As I Frome supporter I really hope this isn't true, despite being on the recieving end of some good performances. Griffin is one of the best at this level and would be a shame if his career is finished.

    Thats a real bugger for man and club. I remember his first training session with the club in 2005, and the player he morphed into far exceeded what was on display that day. A man who truly developed himself and a fine example to other players. - I hope it's not true.

    If this is correct it is a great shame, Griff did well during his spell at Mangotsfield and was popular amongst supporters. He always gave all he had and seemed a decent person off the pitch.

    Hope its not true, but if so he should take the advice and we will all wish him well with grateful thanks as one of our hardest working players
