Following the live updates on the G&H site it seems as though we were unlucky at times and showed some fight. When we pulled a goal back I was hoping we might be able to bring them back to HP.

What happened to Rudge's utterances in July about developing young local fit lads into Southern League Players .... they would have done better than the 33 something ex-league has beens and trouble mongers.......and the mercenaries you have now

I am going to start on a positive note ! much better when we changed to 4 4 2 and brought Knighton on to help Phillips. It looked like no one knew their job whilst playing 4 5 1. Knighton had a goal disallowed for offside which was a shocking decision by the linesman, It would then of been 3 2 and we were the better team at that time. However, the 4 goals we let in were again gifts but at least we did'nt fold like Tuesday. The sooner Collier gets the job the better as a major overhaul of the squad is needed. Well done to the few who made the journey.

We only have ourselves to blame for letting those three first half goals in. Otherwise, the referee was extremely poor, as was the linesman. Our disallowed goal should definitely have stood, and he seemed quite detached from the game because he never had the faintest idea where to place the ball for free kicks.
Without a proper center back our defence really were a shambles, completely disorganised, and frightened of committing to a tackle. When they did, it looked clumsy and frustrated. Our full-backs seem completely unable to defend at all, and this combined with no decent passing ability make them effectively useless.
The team had no proper structure whatsoever, it looked like there were acres of space between every position, and when we did get the ball everyone just ran forward - There was no cohesive attacking moves, and no fluidity in the passing, apart from a few good crosses from McClennan and Guthrie in the second half.
Besides that - Fair play to Knighton, Griff and Phillo. You all worked your socks off, and played some good football, which isn't an easy task in the freezing cold when the team is being taken apart. It looks like such a frustrating process.
