Re: Chippenham Town vs Bedford Town

Today's performance can be summed up by the words: Clueless and shambolic.

So was it 199 or 299 ?

With a new manager on board I would have expected 500 plus !

Re: Chippenham Town vs Bedford Town

Thank god the board outside the club didnt have todays game advertised and so only 199 had to witness that display today. Not going to put any blame on Steve Winter is its Rudgey failures that have put us in this predicament. Think Steve and the assistant will be running up a huge phone bill this week trying to find some decent new players and ship out some of the current ones.

Re: Chippenham Town vs Bedford Town

Pathetic a team with one of the worst defensive records and we could only manage one goal. Less said about the defence the better. Feel sorry for Tindle who puts in some great performances and still ends up on the losing side. And at this rate the attendance will soon be down to the real hard core. I'll be there but you do question your sanity watching this utter rubbish and then turning up for the next game. As most on here have said Steve Winter has to be given time to get in new players but from what I have seen of the players he has signed I have to question whether they are good enough. Why was the new centre back on the bench? Was he injured or not fit ( why sign someone who isn't fit we need players now can't afford the luxury of waiting for someone to get fit)? If he was fit to play then baffled why he wasn't playing?
Bedford's centre backs had a field day and didn't have to put much effort in to win the ball. Too strong physically for our forwards. Needed Griff up there to add a bit of strength which was apparent early on but wasn't until the last few minutes he was pushed forward.
A word of praise for Bedford's number 3. One of his clearances hit a lad in the stand in the face. He took the trouble at half time to run over to him presumably to see he was OK. So well done to that man.

Re: Chippenham Town vs Bedford Town

Before half time we were playing some decent football, and all of a sudden it imploded and the manager had no ideas how to stop the rot. Talking to one of Bedfords supporters at half time,  he said Bedford will lose a few more goals in second half, but we did not expect what happened next, playing players out of position soon takes it toll when the slide starts.if something is not done soon the attendance will plummet even more. Bedford are a poor side, so what does that make Chip!

Re: Chippenham Town vs Bedford Town

We are desperate for a experienced centre back which will allow Griff to play in his best position as a centre forward. At the moment our three other strikers could not hit a barn door with a banjo.
This situation has been known about for a few weeks now, so I am hoping the new manager has plans to shore up our defence by signing a player in the next week

Re: Chippenham Town vs Bedford Town

Just read the report of yesterday's game on the website ( and well done for getting it on so quickly) but wondered if it  was actually about yesterday's game. To quote" After dominating both halves for long periods....". WHAT not from where I was standing. Neither stand were capable of dominating that game. Over hit crosses wayward passing was what dominated the game.
I wonder if someone could clear up one little thing for me. Blackmore was down on the team sheet as a sub, Reid wasn't. So how come Blackmore was walking round the ground and clearly not a sub and Reid was on the bench?

Re: Chippenham Town vs Bedford Town

We have a tough season ahead of us, without two decent centre halves we are relegation material. The new centre half was on the bench as he isn't good enough. Even a keeper of John's calibre can't stem the tide!
