Credit where credit is due. This was as lively and positive a performance as I've seen for a while. We looked dangerous from the off... trying to get players forward and worrying Maidenhead, by releasing early ball for the runners ... Rashawn Scott, Olaf and SWS ...to lock on to. We created several good chances before the break.. before the emphatic Parsons penalty after Freddie G had been dragged backwards to the ground.
Maidenhead... who had offered very little at all in the first half... asked more questions in the second. We held firm and could have had another. They were denied a penalty when ball came to Freddie's arm near the ground, I think, in our penalty area. We got the rub of the green in the lino & ref's eyes.. Justice served, I think.
Whatever the season's eventual outcome, it was good to see a totally committed performance. There is no sense of demoralisatioon or lack of fight in this group of players. ...Most of them collapsing to the ground at the end... before the minor ruck rekindled energy... attested to that. Worth the entrance fee today ? Definitely.

An absorbing game to watch. Our first half performance warranted a bigger lead at half time but a solid second half saw us deservedly take the points I thought. Promising debut from Scott who took the MOM plaudits (although I’d have given Freddy the nod) but everyone put in a great shift, so well done all.
Ten games left (five home, five away) and we probably need to win seven of them for a miraculous escape. Our home record isn’t bad, in fact it’s excellent lately. Nine clubs have lost more home games than us. It’s our away form that has killed us. 0 wins, 3 draws, 15 defeats which is nothing short of disastrous. Such is life.

Great to see us play with attacking intentions from the start.Scott andSWS out wide getting plenty of ball and creating plenty of opportunities.Shame that we can’t convert more crosses into goals. Luke Haines long throws caused problems, why haven’t we used this more.Maidenhead not happy about our penalty and them not getting one. 250 games for Will Henry, hope there is many more to come.

A much needed 3 points. For all the possession we still lack goals from open play, but from now until the end of the season it's results that matter not how we get them. A good attendance, bolstered by plenty from Maidenhead. Massive game against Enfield next week.
