Bath City (H)

All I ask from the game this p.m. is ( apart from 3 points) that we play with far greater intensity and ferocity than we did in the equivalent fixture last year, where Bath were simply more up for it than we were and duly took the points. There's precious little cheer at the moment... but at least a stirring ( and hopeully, winning performance) could lift some of the mis-season gloom and be a distraction from the creak of the opening  trap-door beneath us. COYB!! Time for  a BIG PERFORMANCE...

Re: Bath City (H)

.... duly delivered!! What a difference Billy Phillips made up front, especially linking with Sol Wanjou-Smith in the left wing back position.  They were positive, ran  at Bath with pace...and, to my mind, lifted the whole team .. who for quarter of an hour in the 2nd half, played the best and most exciting spell of football I've seen at the TSS in the last 2 years.  "One swallow does not a summer make."... but if there is a way forward out of our current predicamnet, then this will be what it looks like:- direct, pacey, positive play and a lot more self-belief. Happy New Year.. in  every sense. Well done everybody... a proper performance.

Re: Bath City (H)

That was much better today and we deserved to win it.
Not sure why Carroll didn't try to get a tackle in with their first goal - he seemed to run away from the Bath player. Also another silly free kick given away for their second goal but we managed to overcome it and get the winner.

Re: Bath City (H)

After a difficult season so far, that should hopefully give everyone on and off the pitch a bit of a lift. Good character to go again after conceding so late. Our first home win against that lot for exactly 20 years, and only our second ever at HP. Safe to say we owed them one.

This has to be a springboard now, or else it was for nothing. But nice to have a skip in the step this evening.

Re: Bath City (H)

Not a game for the purists, but who cares?  That’s the first time for longer than I care to remember that I’ve actually felt entertained.  Great character to keep going right to the death, especially after seemingly being forced to settle for a draw.  I’ll ignore the shocking lack of defending for the first goal, and the needless free kick leading to their equaliser 😉. Well done lads, great effort all round, much deserved.

Re: Bath City (H)

Getting one over the local rivals will do for a few days. Watched the highlights looked a brilliant performance regardless of what others will say.

Looking forward to Totton now, see many on the 30th
