Easier to digest last night's game than the Budget, so here goes:- in simple, crude terms they dominated us pretty much for 65/70 minutes apart from the first 5 or 6 minutes when we were really bright and threatening. They were quick, worked really hard and were very tricky down both flanks... particularly the left. They had 2 early chances that Poleon put away emphatically. All-round,they discomfited us and we were forced into our usual cross-field probing for long periods, that proved, once again, completely fruitless and just allowed them to reset their shape time after time. They shut down space giving Touray and Chuks nothing to work on at all. Once again we improved markedly in the second half with the substitutions being the catalyst. Suddenly space appeared and opportunities opened up on both sides. Wonderful taken goal by Olaf K from a simple squared ball across the front of the "D" by Lewis Colwell. Suddenly the steam built up and the 2nd came soon afterwards. Cue a frantic last 10 minutes when we probably should have gone on to win it.
I'm surprised the Farnborough manager has left; they looked a good side , although they did go back into themselves when the pressure built. I thought there were several distinctly under par performances yesterday.. sometimes easy options being taken... and sometimes lack of intensity and positioning off the ball.
At least we're learning not to lose!!... even when we give the opposition a headstart far too often.

Generally things beginning to look a bit brighter on the pitch..Six points from the last five games as opposed to only six points from the first fourteen games.Maybe there is hope we can climb the table.Substitutions certainly changed the game, personally would have liked to seen them made earlier. I think we are far better when run at the opposing defence. Attendances are starting to dwindle, could be a major concern if preformaces don’t improve.Lastly shooting from the edge of the box does work, pherhaps we should try it more often.

The proverbial game of two halves I thought. Poleon must really enjoy playing here, I remember his hat-trick for Ebbsfleet here a few years ago, although he did injure himself scoring the second last night and went off. I thought Farnborough became complacent after going 2 up so soon but take nothing away from our spirited second half performance, a bit like the old days playing down the slope and pinning the opposition in their own half. A valuable point in the circumstances and good to move up a place in the table.
Interesting to hear the two managers post-match interviews (both claimed it was 2 points dropped). The Farnborough manager (an interesting entry on Wikipedia) was clearly very angry "we were in total control for 80+ minutes". Not sure about that but everyone is entitled to an opinion. ![]()
