Re: Horgan has to go

Direct quotation from the D&R Fans Forum:- "Chippenham had enough chances to win two games - they had a strong claim for a penalty in the 1st half (I was standing behind the 4th official and he said he would have given it!) Also two shots from point blank range where they hit it straight at Howes; another one early in the 2nd half lobbed over Howes but slowly enough for Dieng to clear off the line.

Our goal came from a goalkeeping clanger. Haigh swung in a high free kick from the left, the goalie came out to claim unchallenged but dropped it at the feet of Andy Carroll, who smashed it in the top corner from a tight angle.

For once we managed to survive 8 minutes of stoppage time. A win is a win, but we were outplayed for most of the game and very lucky to come away with anything."

The points situation confirms, starkly, that we are in big trouble; the demeanour and quality of our play ( inconsistent as it is) suggests that we are more than capable of digging our way out of this. Still 32 games to go.
Thought the midfield looked much more influential and creative with Mehew and Caine in harness and Fleet doing so much quiet, efficient clearing up and ball winning behind them. Colwell has made a big step forward ( he was very good at Torquay apparently)  Parsons looked anything but rusty despite 3 months out and Harrison seemed much more comfortable on the right side of the pitch. Maybe we were looking at a more settled starting eleven.... including TOE of course when he returns. And then there's Freddie in the wings..
Most of those around us felt they'd seen an encouraging performance... and certainly not a 6- points-adrift- and-sinking display.

Re: Horgan has to go

Most people there yesterday would say Chippenham were unlucky not to get something but the reality is we lost....again. So far in 2025...Chippenham have played 36 league games and lost 19 of them. There has only been one league win this season and next Saturday is the 1st November. In a nutshell we lose more games than we win. Looks like a very troubling pattern to me. One that other clubs would not accept.

Yesterday the problem was that we did not take our chances. Against Hemel in my opinion, there was no drive or creativity in midfield 2nd half. Against Chelmsford in the cup we couldn't defend. Each game brings another problem or problems and unfortunately for the manager and his coaching team - it is up to them to sort out such issues. Issues they are failing to sort out over a lengthy period of time.

We are playing at a level where the standard is high and one that requires big decisions to be made by the powers that be.Seems straight forward to me...could someone else outside CTFC do a better job managing CTFC this season? Probably. Trouble is that the longer the can is kicked down the road, the harder it is to turn a season around.

Re: Horgan has to go

Surely enough is enough for the management team.
We have taken 1 point from the last 6 games which in no uncertain terms is not good enough.
It’s time for chairman and board to make the decision to replace management team

Re: Horgan has to go

If the management team are still there at the end of the week I will seriously consider stopping going to games. Why should we be paying out good money to watch a team managed by a clueless management team play crap football.
Could the chairman/board please do the decent thing and put them and us out of our misery.

Spot on.

Losing this often is definitely not down to bad luck. Don't score enough, concede too many at important times - we don't do the basics well enough.

Also four teams get relegated so can't pretend it is a winner takes all game on Tuesday against Salisbury. Regardless - We are already in big trouble, up against it and look incapable of getting positive results consistently.

Might upset the GH and Co fan club....but entire Management Team have ran their race. They have no answers to the problems..... Most  of us who watch Chippenham Town know it too.Chairman and the board need to wake up and make a big decision. As Frank stated - it is not good enough.

Again seems straight forward to me -  could other people manage/coach CTFC better and be on the right end of those fine margins? Definitely.

Re: Horgan has to go

Good recovery tonight to pull back from 0-2 but not good enough. 3 points needed against our nearest rivals and so if Plan B exists it needs to be implemented.
