9 games into season, one win and two draws which leaves us sitting third bottom in table.
New signings have not set the world on fire
Do we need a change at the top before the season becomes a relegation battle?

It was a relegation battle before the season started. The resources required to stay in this league are increasing to a level we just can't match. It's not that we're getting worse, it's that nearly everyone else is pulling away from us.

Agree its worrying as we normally have a more positive start to the season, with a drop off in form during winter and late season recovery. However, the fixture list has given us some very difficult opponents to start with and we haven't (yet?) been on the rough end of several thrashings. The proof of the pudding will come when we play more of those teams we would expect to find ourselves amongst in the mid-bottom half of the table

What like Enfield and Walton and Hersham?

We've not even played Walton and Hersham yet so not sure how that's relevant, although they're top of the southern prem at the moment so will be very tough. Enfield, though, was definitely the worst result of the season so far and justifies everyone's concern over the start of the season.
Out of our first 9 games, only 2 (Slough and Enfield) were against teams currently in the bottom half, and they were both away from home, so agree the first few fixtures were clearly very tough but that doesn't excuse getting just 5 points from them.
Next 3 league games are all very winnable. Need to start picking up points soon or we'll end up with a widening gap to safety. Yes, the league has got tougher, but I would still think our squad to has the quality to stay up, hopefully they start to show it soon.

The point being they are a lower placed team, so anything over than a win will be seen as a failure.
We just scraped past Gloucester.

0-2 win a pretty good riposte to this thread. Well done today lads

Job done. Must be said we have a knack under this management of being a very decent knockout team - that run to the play-offs, cup and trophy runs too.
Hoping another fourth round quali berth, 90 mins from some more history. Onwards.

Solid enough today - done what was needed to progress and avoid an upset.Walton & Hersham were tricky at times and played neat and tidy football but didn't quite have that cutting edge. 2nd half was relatively comfortable and Owen-Evans goal was coming. Haines kept it together well at the back and TOE was decent in the striking role.
The league is a different kettle of fish though and next week at home to Hemel is a big game for the management and the players - potential gaps at the bottom of any league are not good and can be difficult to get out of. However that is for next Saturday - the cup draw on Monday and the next round in a couple of weeks is something to look forward to.
