We are going to get smashed in this. Gloucester doing well in the league below, fielding many players that would walk into our team.

Sorry but Horgan has to go. So lucky today and didn’t deserve it if I’m honest. He’s clueless, and has no idea how to manage young talent. Chippenham are a step 3 team playing above their weight and will get caught out this season.

Fair play - I was looking forward to a Tues replay, but that's a proper battling result. Good radio commentary too

Re: FA Cup 2nd Qualifying round draw

Not much between the teams. Thought the first half display from Chippenham was disappointing. Started without an out and out striker and our play was slow and apart from a couple of bursts mainly static. Goal that was conceded was poor - unable to deal with a throw (i think) into the box. 2nd half more purpose -  leading up to the equaliser a few crosses were causing Gloucester problems. Game was even again after that with both sides coming close but Gloucester got very loose at the end and another cross brought another goal which goes to proved the old-fashioned ways of crossing a ball and attacking it still work!

Next week will tell us much more about the direction things are going in but although it was again unconvincing - nice to be in the next round. Hoping for a good draw on Monday.

Re: FA Cup 2nd Qualifying round draw

Two evenly matched teams on the whole.  We started brightly but we didn’t deal with a long throw and they took advantage.  We had a few brighter moments in the first half, maybe could have had a penalty, but generally looked toothless in the final third so didn’t hold out much hope at half time.  Much better second half, a decent cross met with a determined header and we were all square, and our best period of the game followed.  The post came to their rescue, but they were still dangerous and had chances to go back in front and, as the game wore on, made us defend with a replay looking the most likely.  Haines again imperious - please stay fit. Just as I’d uttered the words “can’t see us creating  any more chances” up popped TOE with a deft header that seemed to hit the net in slow motion.  Cue delirium behind the goal.  Football eh? Don’t you just love it?
This should give us confidence - we somehow found a way to win.

Lads, I've found Jerry Gill's account. A bit more spare time on his hands now he's left Dagenham.
