FT 2-2.
Could've been 5-5. A shame to lose it so late on but a draw is a decent result and am generally encouraged by that performance with a lot of the criticisms of last years team looking to have been addressed.

I watched on DAZN and was impressed. I saw a well organised team with a game plan playing in gusty conditions on a dry pitch and almost coming away with three points.
Promising signs early on, and I think we’ll do some damage to teams that aren’t up to Dorking’s standard. Really hope the injury to Harry isn’t as bad as it seems, but we do seem well stocked up front currently if sidelined for some time.

A shame to concede at the death after a resolute display at the back for large periods. Maybe should have been game over with some good chances wasted at 2-0/2-1. We must remember we have 3 senior defensive options missing due to injury, that was a young back line and they did ever so well.
It’s dawned on me today the physical task ahead with the development of full time teams. I worry we are on borrowed time unless we adapt as a club in the near future. Look forward to Ebbsfleet after their big win at Dagenham.

Agree with that. Recruitment seems to have been good with an emphasis on strikers/ attacking midfielders. Ironically today the back line appeared to me to be a potential weakness whereas in recent years it has generally been the club's strength. (Yes I know there have been some missing today through injury). A typically good performance from Will Henry, good to see HP getting early goals and particularly good to see players getting forward when the opportunity arose. As for Dorking I don't think they will be far away come the end of the season.

Dorking at home was a decent opening game to have and it had a open feel to it from the start.
Really good strike from Parsons for his first goal. Shame if his injury is lengthy as he looked to be on it.
Fleet and Mehew looked a decent combination in midfield - winning a good few midfield battles - thought a bit of momentum was lost when Mehew came off with twenty minutes left.
Dorking did deserve something to be fair and watching them again emphasised how tough this league will again be.Quite a few teams will be like them over the next few months.

Best game at home for a long while. Both teams wanting to get the ball forward.Good to see us play a more direct style of football, at last no playing out from the back.Harry Parsons looked a completely different player, hopefully his injury isn’t to serious.New signings settled in well.Could of won the game in the first half, but Dorking had the momentum in the second half.Know it was only the first game of the season but there were encouraging signs.Does anybody know what the crowd was.

A really refreshing, entertaining afternoon.... and what a shift in the style of play, particularly amongst the back four. No insistence on playing neat little triangles in our final 3rd, but direct clearances and longer balls into space, With two/ three marauding front runners in Harry Parsons, Ezio Touray and Olaf K, we have outlets that can threaten any defence... so no excuse for not mobilising them quickly and decisively. It is the first time in perhaps 4 years where I think every Will Henry goal kick was sent directly upfield from a deadball position. I don't see this as a "surrender" from playing "proper footbal|" but simply a much more positive, attacking mindset that says "Let's get into their half and see what happens to the 2nd ball". Six neat passes in your own half, pleasing on the eye as they may be, but a poor final one, and you're still in your own half inviting pressure,. Yesterday felt quite liberating. There's a lot of promise amongst the newcomers. Don't really agree with Argus about Tom M. who I really think is struggling a bit at he moment. We know how good he can be.. so it make it all the more frustrating,
On the AAH front, he was clearly there and in CTFC livery. My guess would be that no terms will, or could possibly, be agreed until his obvious rehabilitation has played out. I would hope/expect to see him later in the season with the Number 5 on his back.
Desperate for poor Harry Parsons.... just as his star was beginning to rise after an average last season. Remembering Alex Bray's agony at Bath with his torn ACL, Harry didn't seem to be in the same distress... so hopefully nothing anywhere as serious, We have good cover... but pre-season has shown that he seems to be thriving alongside new partners., 2 excellent goals.. attest to that.

Enjoyed the game with both teams really giving their all and Chippenham really believing in what they needed to do against a big hitter. Not only did Chippenham get the ball forward quickly they were also very disciplined out of possesion and liked the look of Fleet in midfield. Him,Tom Mehew and also TOE had to work hard and personally felt they done sometimes unnoticed hard yards, extremely well. Although agree with the mention about how physical these hybrid/full time teams are, Fingers crossed we won't go back to triangles at goal kicks and tippy tippy at the back and continue mix things up as yesterday showed what can happen if we get amongst the opposition and unsettle them..

New supporter, second league game I’ve been to.
Could not fault the teams effort and unlucky not to get all three points. However, I thought the tactics were wrong. Their number 8 on the wing was too easily given the ball and was left unmarked throughout. Had they had better finishing could easily scored 2 or 3 more.
Once you identify the threat (they’re no. 8) you need to stop it. But overall a decent performance. Hopefully Parsons is not out too long. A good start.
