Re: Non League Day on Saturday

Always been big away followings every season though?

As for going down, it would for a little bit as the chances are we would win more games but that novelty would soon wear off. Big thing in my opinion is the lack of online presence and using that moving forward.  Next to that, the next best thing is give free tickets and get them to spend money in the ground, but when you contract out your food provision (terrible quality too!) you lose that opportunity to make it worthwhile.

I would guess if you looked at all clubs from The Championship down to our level that have been mid table and safe with minimal drama either way, that the attendances stagnate. However, from what I see the one thing that we do have in our favour is a thriving youth section now. I see more and more junior players at the ground in kit, so this only bodes well for the future but that impact will take years to ripple through.

Re: Non League Day on Saturday

Personally I think we have seen bigger away following this season, especially those outside of the ‘Big’ clubs I.e Torquay, Yeovil, Bath etc..
Eastbourne, Dorking, Enfield, Salisbury Maidstone, Weymouth, Weston have all brought decent numbers this season.

A thriving youth section yes, that will drift away when they have to pay and Dad has to stump it £17

Re: Non League Day on Saturday

I just hope the concerns about the matchday experience are addressed and there are efforts made to improve this and some communication and bridges mended between fans and the club, it is clear somewhere that there has been a breakdown in some cases and in others the objectives are not clear and it seems like in two completely different paths. I do feel like some have said it is a time warp at times, let's get into the modern age of football, I promise it isn't as bad or scary as it can seem.

A lot of mistakes have been made this season and in recent seasons that contribute towards this. Make matchdays more of a spectacle, more colourful, more louder. It almost feels at times that it is an inconvenience to retain supporters and that as long as people come in and pay their money they have achieved something, there needs to be a selling point or wow factor as to why people should spend their money at Chippenham Town Football Club.

Let's have some half time entertainment of some kind, let's have the atmosphere back in the ground, unban those who don't ultimately need to be banned, give the group behind the goal some encouragement to come back and get behind the team, even a year ago we had loud, passionate fans in their late teens and early 20's, yeah they might have gotten a bit excited at times and maybe sworn a few times but they were the only ones who made an effort to try and vocally support and would travel home and away to follow the team, they are seldom seen now at all The absence of Simon Lawrence and others who contributed to this is felt. If the club and supporters work together then surely things can be better than the current state off the pitch.

Re: Non League Day on Saturday

Totally agree apart from the last bit, throwing toys out of the cot me thinks. People on the committee need to be professional, and not seen behind the goal or on’X’ throwing profanities about.
