Weymouth

Well apart from the last 10 minutes that was one of the worst games I've seen this season and have we seen some pretty awful ones. First half Weymouth were all over us and must be kicking themselves for not taking advantage of our abject performance.  Fortunately improved a bit in the second half but doesn't say a lot when dominated for most of the game by a team that has been in the relegation zone for most of the season.
Sending off deserved but totally unnecessary.

Re: Weymouth

Yep yet again a bumper crowd and we play awful at home.
We won but we’re very very lucky that Weymouth were so inept in front of goal.
No incentive for the casual supporter to return.
Happy with mid table and us competing in a very tough league when we are punching above our weight, but we need a massive shake up off field.
Need to let under 14’s in for free.
Make all turnstiles cash and card.
Advance purchase of tickets.
Need to get some decent toilets, especially for away fans when segregation is in place.
Remove seats behind the Cricket end to try and create more atmosphere.
Etc, etc …

Re: Weymouth

Awful spectacle.Totally bored for most of it. Once again there is nothing to get behind. For at least two seasons the football at home has been poor value and underwhelming. Unfortunately can't see it being any different next season.

Re: Weymouth

Some interesting points from Wellard which I hope will be addressed although, sadly, putting the seats behind the goal were our only option I believe.

As for the game, Will Henry kept us in it with a brilliant double save in the first half, and you had to wonder which team were relegation bound.  Our sending off was laughable, inasmuch as it should have been avoided.  A free kick to us, which went wrong, then they’re suddenly in our half and we have the two players who you’d probably least want in defensive positions making a pigs ear of dealing with it.  That’s not their fault, that’s clipboard coaching.  I lost count of the times the ball goes backwards as well - it’s not clever and it’s very dull to watch.
The last quarter was a little more entertaining with Matt McClure doing brilliantly to get the ball into the box, leading to the penalty (I don’t think that was a red though) so we at least managed to get over the line and pushes us over the 50+ points mark for another season up with the big boys.

Re: Weymouth

A very poor spectacle for a large crowd to see. Too many home games in the last two seasons have lacked excitement and adventure. Quite frankly its a poor product on offer. I accept that away form has been very good but that's not much consolation for the vast majority who don't travel. Weymouth didn't deserve to lose although if they have been shooting like that all season then that's why they are going to get relegated.
