Our problem is having the confidence to shoot from more than 12yards out.I have lost count the amount of times we try and walk the ball into the net.Lets start with AAH up front with Parsons or McClure. Also agree that blaming the pitch is beginning to be used to much as a excuse.

Picking up on Oldman's comments about Gary H blaming the pitch; I guess what GH is really saying is that a cut up, bobbly pitch doesn't suit our style of slick, quick interpassing.... which it obviously doesn't. What we have adapted to better, as the TSS surface has worsened (despite Tony's usual heroic efforts) is playing the football that suits the conditions or the team in front of us. 2 or 3 months ago we were getting beaten at home consistently because we were being stopped from playing the way we wanted to and we had no effective Plan B. Now we are scratching out the draws and the odd win by being more direct and using Hamzad, AAH and different combinations up front to mix things up a lot more. I know some still think we play across the pitch too much, but think back to August and September.. and we vary things much more now.. either playing out from the back, going long, down the flanks or diagonally to switch play and drag the opposition around. None of the last 3 home games has been any sort of spectacle, but heh! ..it's February/March and not really the time for champagne football, traditionally. Interesting to see how we're set up against Torquay; we were 3-0 down within 20 mins at Plainmoor. Hoping for better.. and a goal-free Jordan Young.

Gary has been banging on and on about the pitch for several weeks though. Coincidentally, always unprompted and usually after a disappointing home performance.......Stand to be corrected - but heard they have been training on the pitch recently??
When it comes to looking back over the season - Alternatively - could think back to August and September and compare it to Saturday and realise that we still play one striker up front at home.

For the record: of the last 4 Home games we have only started 1 ( last Saturday) with one up front.
The other 3 games we've started with 2, I think...
Welling : MM/Hamzad
Chesham: MM/ Parsons
Aveley: MM/Hamzad
