A much better performance than that of Tuesday night. We looked really lively and dangerous at times in the first half especially down the left with Gravata/Johnson /Mehew creating little quick triangles of interpassing causing Farnborough all sorts of trouble. MM missed a one-on one with their goalie, and Nat Williams had a point blank header saved fantastically on the line. An excellent goal for us started the second half with a bang, before it all began to unravel. We got pushed back repeatedly, conceded 2 penalties and got tied in knots by some really slick, dangerous approach play almost always orchestrated by 37 yr old Ricky Holmes who pulled most strings just as he had at the TSS at the beginning of the season. The two pens were just clumsy lunges as I remember and we could have conceded again when we had a spell of ultra high-risk interpassing across our own area... something that Farnborough didn't indulge in once..We missed Luke Haines and especially Freddie quite badly in that 2nd half... as it was our left, once again, that looked really vulnerable at times.
Farnborough as a Club look affluent and progressive. Their ground I would have thought is League 2 ready and they seem able to pile in loads of youngsters. It all had a very prosperous air to it.
