Went along today hoping to see more of the attacking entertaining football we saw last week. Instead we were subjected to the same boring defensive rubbish we have suffered most of the season. Continually playing the ball around in your own half simply allows the opposition to get their defensive lines sorted.Evidenced by the fact we had two goal attempts all game.Hampton started playing this way to then changed to getting the ball forward more quickly and made all the difference.
Not too sure about the penalty but that's always the risk you run by mucking about in and around your own penalty.
And finally don't understand why after an abysmal first 45 minutes changes aren't made at half time.

But what changes…we are awash with similar midfielders. Bray/Johnson/Dawes/Gravata.
Only one striker fit who is trying his hardest up front.
And a full back playing at centre back.
Most changes are like for like and have little impact.
I said it ages ago we need to bring a striker in, permanent or on loan to add some competition.
WSM have brought in Sam Pearson from Yeovil and he scored 2 today.
We are well behind Bath, Salisbury, WSM and dare I say it Gloucester in the pecking order.

Unfortunately there seems to be a pattern emerging - occasionally an entertaining, purposeful display happens, then it reverts to type - dull stuff, lacking any purpose. It's been going on a long time. Really don't know where they are going with this unambitious outlook.Would think Bath and St Albans (right below us) will improve as the season goes on but we seem to be drifting along (we were hardly great before Hemel) - naively thinking this development style works consistently in a tough division.
Good point made by Joiner that Hampton changed as the game went on, playing the game how they saw it - mixing it up and with players - from what i saw - who could stand up to the physical side of things.things we rarely do and can't do. Echo thoughts about the imbalance of the squad and Freddie Grant one of our best players, who brings a lot to the team at left back, playing centre half. He's done well there, but surely you want to play your best players in their best positions. As for the striker situation - again, why have we not got that area covered? Strikers change games - a few of these surely are more beneficial than the multiple similar midfielders currently on the books.

Jordan Young wants out of Yeovil by all accounts… maybe?

Yeovil are apparently mulling over an offer for Jordan, according to Mark Cooper.. I would have thought it vanishingly unlikely to have come from us. I would expect Jordan's sights to be on higher things . Can't see how he'd fit in at present, anyway, with Will Dawes doing such a good job. Presumably he's looking for another NL Premier club... or higher?. As long as he doesn't end up at you-know-who down the A4!!
No need to comment on the H&R game. Gary Horgan summed it up perfectly. The penalty against Stokes, once again in replay, looks really harsh, though... just a tangle of legs... could have just as easily gone the other way.

I doubt Bath could afford him either.
Looked like a penalty to me, ball was gone and he put a foot in.
Although the real issue was/is how did we get into that position in the first place. Messing about at the back and Haines giving Spokes a pass he didn’t really want…who’s poor first touch encouraged the attack to press a bit harder.

Young has just signed for Torquay.
Think it was a penalty from viewing highlights.finished game off and was avoidable - but again no mention or reference about what led to it, in managers interview.
